Rocket initiated hybrid... non pyrotechnic

Ok my original idea was in violation of forum rules and I was unaware of this.

So... 4000 ft/lb hyrbid cannon launching a projectile which is also a rocket... a 12 ounce projectile could travel 750 meters from proposed gun and if I created say for a forum safe hypothetical example a mythical c02 rocket with 25 lbs of peak thrust and 137newton meter total impule what kind of range could be obtained?
This is definitely a remote fire situation!

Unfortunately as cool as that project would be it is beyond the scope of the discussion on this forum:
The Rules wrote:Discussion of solid propellants, explosive devices or incendiary projectiles fired specifically from a spud cannon is prohibited, and may result in a permanent banning of your account. For the purpose of this forum, these definitions will be used:

Solid propellant: Any substance containing all the chemical elements required to enable sustained combustion without the presence of additional oxidizers. This includes but is not limited to gunpowder, thermite, and many commercial and/or homemade pyrotechnic compounds.
For this purpose, nitroglycerine, though liquid, would qualify.
For this purpose, ordinary flour, though solid, would not qualify.
Explosive device: Any device that has the capability to release large amounts of stored energy rapidly.
Discussion of fireworks as projectiles is prohibited.
Discussion of "soda bottle bombs" or any other similar devices that may cause shrapnel as a result of uncontrolled rupture is prohibited.
Incendiary projectile: Any projectile that is capable of producing flame.
Rocket propelled projectiles, pyrotechnic smoke bombs, or any other burning projectiles would qualify as an incendiary projectile.

is this edit Kosher? Is it a legal requirement or something? I can understand not wanting to give potato launchers a bad name... too much negative press and the fed would step in and ruin a fun healthy hobby.

Conversely, the hybrid blast could be used to initiate the projectile.

You'll definitely get a performance boost, it's the same logic behind the Raketenwerfer 43.

Sealing a finned projectile in a barrel needs to be catered for too.

Im just looking for all out range and hang time, nothing else. the gun I had launched inert PVC "rockets" to 400 meters and 16 second hang time.
This was as regular combustion only. I downloaded the hybrid gun design tool and found my 4 ounce projectiles weren't nearly heavy enough and also performed a modifcations to convert to hybrid. at 2 X however the 7 liter pvc combustion chamber detonated in my chest while shoulder firing... according to hgdt this cannon would have launched 12 ounce rockets to 750 meters. The new cannon will be iron pipe and I would like to incorporate this hypothetical c02 rocket into the projectile to possibly hit the one mile mark...... 1600 meters!!!

If you want extreme range, projectile optimisation should suffice without the need for a boost.

Have a look through this rather long thread, plenty of ideas: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/spudgun ... 22491.html

There is some discussion of boosted projectiles too.
