1/4 "hybrid short gun

Harness the power of precision mixtures of pressurized flammable vapor. Safety first! These are advanced potato guns - not for the beginner.

I am testing this small 7X hybrid that shoots 1/4 "steel spheres, it has the new hybrid system, with a spring, I have also finished the charging station with the new gas rapid doser design. I have to make the corresponding video to share it. The only thing I found unpleasant is the damn bounce of these steel balls on certain hard surfaces .... :x
The firing barrel is a brass tube and the barrel bore is smooth, made of resin, and lubricated with a little bit of graphite. It has two connectors, one to decompress the combustion chamber and the other to load the mixture through the check valve seen in the photographs.
The charging station consists of this air pump and a liquid butane tank, the 8 ml dosing device, the gaseous phase tank, and the 6-way valve and two positions. It works like a clock and the shots are totally the same. It was impossible to cough this into the little gun so I set it aside. The mix loading system works for all my weapons. Only the syringe dispenser is replaced.
The ammunition fits tightly in the barrel. It is loaded from the back removing the screw that can be seen in one of the photographs.
The regulatory video is pending. :bounce:

Steel balls are bouncy, my target has a thick piece of rubber at the back to absorb the energy and points them downward so I can collect them.

I have to make something similar, to shoot inside my little workshop, although I am shooting with this to "lost ammunition". Do not bounce your steel balls? I shoot a can of soup and back I have a cardboard box with 30 cm of compacted newspaper. There I pick them up and they can not bounce like that.

Another great build! Looks like a Crosman 2240 built by Warhammer 40K Orks :D

I like the screw breech, you know with a bit of filing an artillery style interrupted thread could be possible...

This time I do not understand very well what you mean ... Is it like a system of great cannons? is that?
I was considering for a later version and more "neat" termination, using a half-turn coupling.

I'm going to buy one and try it. I imagine that having a longitudinal displacement guide for the firing barrel and a grip perpendicular to this would be similar to a bolt but easier to build

Shot test. A video shot, both are very short. In the second, you see the spray that was the target.
It is charged with 9 pumps of the air pump and needs 8 cm3 of gas.
It is not seen very well in the videos, (in one hand the camera and in the other the gun), but it sounds strong. Bad luck for the neighbors, (and for me, when my wife arrives). :( :D
The length of the firing barrel, the useful section, is about 6 "The ammunition seals completely everything, and this causes the pressure peak to be achieved, I did not try to give it more gas and more air pressure, because the shock absorber tube Recycled that I used to build the combustion chamber does not reach 1 mm in thickness ... I shot it with 7X but interposing high impact acrylic between my face and the weapon.
This time I could not do it because I had the other hand occupied with the camera, as I explained before.

Oh yeah! In that small courtyard the sound is dispersed enough. I have to use hearing protection inside my small workshop. :)

My rebuilt QEV pistol sounds almost suppressed in comparison,

I will have to make another video. :D

Wow, that is loud. You almost except a chancla wielding woman to run in afterwards :D

If you want to avoid disturbing the neighbors a 2 or 3 liter soda bottle attached to the muzzle with about 500mL of water in it will provide a good amount of noise abatement...

That is quick to do. I will try it and my wife will be very grateful, with me and with you too!

It's an old idea but it works pretty well.
