Well heres my plans, the chamber is a 6inch long 1.5inch pipe nipple...it has a meterd propane injection system, a HVSG and spark plug ignition and i hop to run it at a 5x mix.....ooooo that Should be supersonic..everything is steel apart from the barrel which is 15mm copper....which is the only thing il be woried about failing.

Image

it will be mounted on some plywood. This cannon is only a test bed for my futre plans....i have some 60mm stainless pipe.......ooooo and i can get it welded...think mach 2. but thats a few years away i think

would a bbq sparker with a tiny gap (~1mm) work with a 5x hybrid? anyone?

and another question...roughtly what pressure of propanr am i goin to need? as im goin to be using a large tank and im unsure iff i can take a direct tap feed from the tank to the regualator...so i may have to use a regulator with fixed output and a fariable output regulator to make it the ideal pressure for the meter?

Dude that isn't you own design you just copied it.....
Plzz give credit to tylerthetatertosser cause its exactly the same..
AS for your calculation try it yourself first than ask somebody else..

imatation is the upmost form of flattery my friend! i have improves upon his design as i will be using a regulator for ease of use... and i will be using a different sparker so its not exactly the same...does every person who makes a inline sprinkle valve pneumatic pay creddit to the first? no! and BTW i have tried the calculations and tied myself in knots so i then asked, tylerthetatertosser what pressure of propane are you useing per ATM of air? and is it possible to use butane in a hybrid? what is the optimum mix for butane?

WOOOOOOOOOOOO a regulater what an inprovement.. its more easy to work with. nothing more nothing less..
Its not about small copies.. like the sprinkler valve.... but dude to copie a whole gun that's crap
And for propane pressure.. post your cubic inches of your chamber otherwise nobody can calculate...
Measure volume with water..

also alot of the sizes are different! i was unawer that, useing the meter tube as a air input aswell was that big of a deal :x and this gun(as sated above) is just to test the meter system as ive never played with hybrid before, for a larger launcher, i liked this congiuration so i emulated it...now please shut up and iff you have nothing constructive to say, dont say anything :x

I did say some thing constructive.. post your chamber volume otherwise a calculation is impossible..
if u wanna tap the plug in buy a tap size m14 x 1.25 otherwise weld
You say to me... say something constructive

You said that this hybrid will be all steel. Where do you plan on getting steel fittings? They are never sold at any hardware stores where I live. Hardware stores mostly just sell galvanised malleable iron fittings, which are only rated for 150 psi, although they have been used successfully in many hybrids. Actual steel fittings are rated for either 3000 or 6000psi, and are usually only available from industrial suppliers. The first thing to fail on this design would be the iron fittings, which are only rated for about 1/4 of the pressure that your barrel is. The barrel will probably be fine.

I am helping you cant you see.. if given you the right tap size .. and believe its not easy to find the size or find the tap at all get it at a car depot
as I sayd give me the chamber volume... im good at calculations 8)
and you dont need a stungun a regular bbg igniter does the job aswell... its saver to 8)
put the spark plug diode at 0.35 that does the job

4.7%, if you don't know that by now, I sure as hell don't trust you with a hybrid/

ive had copper burst at 300psi...and ive tested the malleable iron/steel fittings to over 400....so i belive i will be safe with a 5x mix

Frank..ive never seen butane used only propane...maybe its because its been a year or so since ive made a combustion...or even looked through combustion forums....just to let you know ive made over 8 pneumatics and 4 combustions so i belive that i am redy for a hybrid....

and cannon, im goin to use remote ignition now whicj is hard to do with a BBQ ignitor...
