Edit: Australians who need 6mm barrels look inside
Soon as I order a batch of arrows I'll start making real nice proper barrels. It's not as simple as finding a pipe that fits, its gotta be pretty strong, are those weed sprayer nozzles just plastic? If so the vibrations will go right through em and mess up your accuracy, also, if its plastic, its probably less dense than the bbs, and so will probably get worn down by them. Im gonna get my arrow shafts and sleeve 'em in some real thick copper pipe from bunnings, that'll do the trick.

No actually it was aluminium... However you'll get vibrations anyway since it was about .5mm thin. I use plastic or aluminium either way... Since BBMG is different from a one shot.
Arrows are bendy too so there'll be some sort of vibration caused anyway.
You can solve that problem by adding some sort of brace to lessen the vibration.

Hey Aussies,
My friend thought of a great way for another barrel improv. I didn't think of it at first but you could probably buy copper tubing for hot water systems since I've seen them to be pretty small but is used to handle ALOT of pressure. I think I remember from a youtube video that some people who have made bb guns have used a 6mm ID copper tube as their barrel. They should come straight too so aligning it will be easy.

I just went for a trip to Bunnings and picked up some 1m aluminium tubing, it has on ID of like 6.8mm, the cost was $10 per meter. Is that still too loose for 6mm rounds?

Well you'll want something less than 6.3 If you want a significan amount of power... you should checked out the copper tubing in the plumbing / hot water system section

Well sadly in Australia there are little to none archery stores... or their in the middle of no where... And it seems alot of us aren't keen on buying it online either. hehe. Yeah. Thanks for that. Its a shame that the sizes they quote are often pretty far off the actual though. Like my 1714 should have a 6.035mm ID but it has a 5.8mm ID. Kinda wierd. Its all about going in and just testing your projectile with it.
Im going for another adventure into bunnings tomorrow to see if i can find anything suitable. My copepr pipe is 10mm ID, my aluminium pipe is like 7.9mm ID. The way i see it, i have two alternatives.
1. Somehow find 6mm ID pipe and somehow find 6mm bearings/ammo which is hard to get in Aus
2. Find an 8mm ID pipe or 10mm ID pipe and purchase 10mm or 8 mm bearings, which in ebay.com.au are very common. I could use my 10mm ID copper pipe as a barrel, but it would be bigger than a bb lol.
I think im going for number 2, going back to bunnings tomorrow to see if i can scout out some nice 8mm ID pipe, my aluminium pipe is like 0.4mm too thin

My gun im making is a small bore repeater, and 8mm bore would be perfect, 10mm would be a little too big. I should be able to get multiple shots from my one large chamber.

Hey while you're at it, could you check out for 6mm ID copper tubing... It would be very good if you can find that at bunnings, cause I was looking for 6mm tube all over but I guess you'll have to look in the right sections.
Well I guess could you checkout the 'plumbing' / 'hot water system" parts for copper tubing. + it'll be good since they're made to handle ALOT of pressure so it'll be sturdy.

The aluminum arrow numbering system is an approximation to the nearest whole 64th of and inch. That is why you may see around .010 to .015 inch difference. The wall thickness won't vary to much.(+/- .002)
I have some graphite arrow dimension but I don't know if you have them available.
As I find more shafts sizes with accurate dimension I update my database.
