Hi everyone, I don't know if this has been posted before but is there a way to slow down bb's in a cloud so they don't shoot so darn fast? I have an airsoft barrel and a rubber stopper that came from the broken gun that just attaches to the barrel that holds the bb. Will this slow it down? Before anyone says "why would you do that? :x ", i would like to say why. I want to use this against my friends in an airsoft war, and i don't want to put bbs lodged in their skin. Another thing, i have 10 feet of sch 40 3" pipe that i can use to make a "Backpack" type of thing that will hold all of the air. How long do you think it will last if i have 3 connected chambers each 3 feet long? I need help cause my friends are owning me with their aeg's. BTW, my parents won't let me get a airsoft gun that too real :x

Any form of stopper in the barrel will allow pressure to build up in the BB chamber and actually make it shoot at a faster velocity.

With 2 litres of air in this project, I got about 4 seconds of useful firing. What you can do to increase firing time and lower power is to reduce the flow going into your BB chamber - as less air is coming out, it will both last longer and not fire so hard.

How can i reduce flow in the blowgun? What were the pressures you were using?

That was running at 110 psi. What exactly does your cloud setup look like?

Hmmm... haven't came up with the full out design

Ah right, I thought you wanted to modify and existing BBMG. Basically all you need to do is reduce the diameter of the nozzle where the blowgun feeds into the cloud chamber.

On the same subject, is there any similar easy way to reduce ROF while increasing velocity? I don't want an answer like, "increase your velocity, then reduce the ROF", but if thats all there is, just tell me. I figured if there were less flow, the air would be at higher velocities in lower volumes and this would accomplish what I want. Or am I horribly wrong?

Less flow should help keep it down, but will also (probably)reduce velocity.
I think adding a longer barrel will help lower your rpms a little, while still increasing power.

I didn't know they had rpm's...

rounds per minute :p

As explained above:
Any form of stopper in the barrel will allow pressure to build up in the BB chamber and actually make it shoot at a faster velocity.

By having an o-ring or similar between the chamber and the barrel, through which the BBs pass as a tigh fit, you'll lower the rate of fire while at the same time allowing a greater chamber pressure which should equal higher velocity. I'ts a bit tricky to get the tightness right however so it will require some trial and error.

For maximum velocity for a given pressure and barrel length, you want something like this:

Wow I just thought of rounds per minute. First thought of "rotations."

Why not sgotgun blast your loser friends? They probably deserve it anyway. Wou could make a low vol' chamber connected to a backpack chamber and use a choked down sprinkler for the firing valve.
Or you could feed your bbs through a mag for powerful single shots.

Wow Mopher, how did you know that they deserve it? I was sleeping and they took their early christmas present on me. it was an upgraded classic army that he said shot around 390 fps, and shot me right in the nipple. :x

Edit: sorry no pictures... :P
