design problem

so i want to build a replica of my pellet rifle. it's gona ba a coaxial piston that shoots 4.5mm bbs. the first pic ilustrates this with a blow gun. the problem is that i can't fit a blow gun where it needs to go. so i figured i would try a mechanism as shown in pic two. basicaly there is a rod atatched to the triger. when you fire the triger moves the rod back which hits and pushes a hook or something like like that up. it swings and hits the pin in the schrader valve. will that be suficent to pilot the piston or do i need a ball valve where the blow gun is in pic 1 or what?
note that the rod wont just hit the hook( that wouldn't be enough to even get it to the the schrader valve) but instead how ever much preasure is aplyed to the triger will directly be aplyed to the pin for however long you squeaze the triger.
will this work?

if i need to clear things up a bit more just ask.

P.S. in the pics 1 pvc and 1/2 pvc is refering to the pipe size

Assuming you have a small diameter piston (0.75" or less) that is very tight fitting and with limited travel, it should work well enough - this is how all my mini-piston launchers work.

isnt that going to be really hard to make a piston that small. and make it work.

well the piston is gona be a 1inch piston so not very smal but still.

will the blow gun design work better even though it has a way biger pilot volume?
