lol okay im putting a stop to all the confusificiationism...
now that we know what he wants... why do you want the air inlet to be there... you can still have your tank under your barrel... its called hose... it can wrap around...

here, playing with the inlet position isn't really going to affect performance significantly. What you should be concerned with is the rate of flow into your BB chamber.

If I had a tank of high pressure air with no regulator attached, but didnt want to kill what ever I shot at, would it be sufficient to run it through a tiny valve with bad flow? or would that kill my performance in ways other than lowering the muzzle velocity?

That would work, coupled with a BB chamber large enough to act as a de facto expansion chamber.

here is my rough sketch of what I want to do:
The entire top part of the T that houses the Vortex cap will be filled with epoxy to get rid of places for BBs to get stuck. The restricting valve would go somewhere near the pressure washer side of the blue air hose, and could serve as an additional safety to the one already built into the pressure washer.
Yes I realize the whole chamber bending around thing is bulky, but in real life I will cut that down a little more.
The entire thing will be filled from a high pressure pump that I'm gona make
What do you think?

Looks good, restricting the diameter of the blue pipe should be enough to limit performance.

I just thought that if I use a valve of some sort, then I can adjust it as I see fit. I dont want to go through the whole process and find out it only spits BBs at 10fps or it shoots them out at 1000fps...

Of course building in some sort of adjustable valve between the trigger and the BB chamber is a sensible provision to make, a small ball valve would be a good idea.

I was thinking a needle valve because they are highly adjustable, if I'm not mistaken, needing several rotations to open completely as opposed to a ball's 1/4 of a rotation.
