I think bbs would fit loosely though the smaller one. But if it works it works. If i were you i would eventually buy a better tube though.
I find its easier to rumage through the plumbing section on my own rather than asking someone. Nothing is ever in the right place and then end up not being able to find it, so after about 5 minutes they start talking non sense and trying to offer me substitutes.
It wouldnt be a bad idea if your dad got on this site and read a bit too. He doesnt know much about this kind of stuff. Yes pvc is hard but it CAN be pressurized. It IS the primary air tank in ALOT of cannons. I have on sitting right next to me with a pvc chamber.
It doesnt matter if it can expand. I would be a little worried if it did expand. If it did, it would easily explode.
You can force any given amount of air into anything. Its just a matter of how much will be too much for it too handle.
Also, i dont think people have rubber tanks on there air compressors. Its usually metal, which is even harder than pvc.
If he continues to insist that pvc cant be pressurized ask him why a compressor tank can and see what he says.
