Well, I've been doing a lot of work in my garage lately and here's one of the things i've managed to create. It is a people safe (and i do intend to use it!) airsoft shotgun that NEEDS to get itself finished and out of my garage. The only problem is that it needs an effective, easy to make, and reliable trigger system. As you can see in the picture, there is a silver screw near the stock. I am stumped as to how to get that to lock into the trigger system. (there is a spring that will propel that screw forwards... assuming I can get the trigger working!) To anyone with a suggestion/sketch/idea/schematic who would like to post it here, your input is greatly appreciated.[/img][/img]

The shotgun itself. the stock will be shortened to a reasonable length at some point.

This screw needs to lock all of the way back and be released on a trigger pull.

Okay, I got to admit. THAT is cool. But, does it load multiple shells? Are they pre-pressurized cartidges? Or does it have a CO2 cartridge?

What is it? Before we can help we need to know what it is supposed to do.
It looks great though.
Do not look back, and grieve over the past, for it is gone;
Do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come;
Live life in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.

It works similar to, and was inspired by, the F.A.R. by Boltsniper, only modified to shoot airsoft bb's. There is a dowel rod that extends through the shell on a trigger pull (my problem A.T.M.) which fires the bb's. the bb's are packed into the shells with TP on each end. I think after the trigger system though, it is due for a paintjob. (Can you say "all black"?) :) @seanking - It takes one shell at a time, with a sidefed magazine. The spent shells just drop out of the bottom with each pump. (It's shown laying with the magwell down)

Ah, I see. Another guy who's seen Boltsniper's work. :D I do admit, It's on the order of some of SpudFiles better cannons. That is really impressive. Does the dowel punch the bb out the front, or is there a pneumatic piston? Or, is the shell pre-charged? I still want to know.

The dowel punches through the shell. And on a side note, thank you :D

Well, I was talking about Boltsniper's work, but..... What does the dowel do when it punches through? Does it rupture a pressure vessel? Is the bb propelled through impact?

The bb's are just propelled through the impact of the dowel. the pump then pulls the dowel out of the shell, and then the shell falls to the ground. (or my hand, those things suck to have to make!)

make a metal bracket that wraps around the tube and mount a spyder grip frame on there to catch your lug (the screw).

the frames are cheap, i have a ton of them

That gave me an idea for a trigger.
Make a mount for a trigger to put it on the gun. Any way works.
On top of the trigger, make a wider section with a hole in it.
Place that hole so that the screw catches in it when ti's pulled back. Put a light spring on the trigger (can get them at home depot in the fence hardware section) and you are set.

problem is though, it would have to hold back the pressure from the spring (forgot to mention). could it do that with only a light spring?

Image

here is an electronic one.

see the little piece sticking out right at the very top?
that piece will hold your screw back until you pull the trigger at which point it drops and will let your bolt go forward[/img]
