Since I managed to rupture the diaphram in my modded solenoid valve ( using it as a high pressure pilot) I decided to try something I've wanted to do since I made the Deathray bbmg..

I removed the damaged diaphram, put a barrel on the out-port, a blowgun on the " modded" 1/4" bottom port.
I loaded up lead bb's, and plugged the " in" port.

Guess what??

prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp

No sweat.
No jams, beautiful high rate of fire.

This may help some of you who are experiencing trouble with this subject.

This is as easy as modding a solenoid valve!


I'll put it on the Pnuzi soon, wich has some feeding issues.Can;t have jams when you are dependent on only 12 grams of CO2!

Say what? That was about as clear as mud, and I can't tell if you mean sprinkler valve, but awesome none the less, first real innovation in BBMGs I've seen in a while.

Any chance of a link to the original product you used? There are millions of different shaped, sized, and hair colored brass solenoids.
Seriously though, how many more things are you going to take apart for use as a vortex block. Next thing you know, you will be using a car transmission some how to fire lead pellets.

Now don't be giving him ideas...

It'd be great to see some pictures of this if possible Brian. I'm sure a lot of people would benefit from seeing it visually.

Video would be good too, but to be honest, that's probably going to be less useful to any aspiring spudders trying to follow in your wake.

Besides being ready for use after easily ripping stuff out and already having tapped threads; Is this better then a homemade vortex block? If so, why?

The good Lord put it in my drawer for a reason, don;t you think.

This solenoid valve is what got me to try the modded elbow thing inside a Tee on the Deathray, and the QEv on the Pnuzi.

Then the diaphram broke, so I decided to not just use it as an example, I simply used the part.

The trick is to have a pocket right above the bb's for them to travel up to the barrel, with room to jump around.
Another big deal is to have the bb's that miss the barrel fall back into the pool of bb's.

All of the previously mentioned designs worked on that principle, and so does the original vortex block.

Brian PLEASE supply a link to the valve used, a diagram of it, or pic of the valve modified ,this is of huge interest to me as ive had no luck getting a BBMG to feed for some time!....................

WOW! ,Cant argue with that mate 8) been dying to make another(working!) BBMG for some time,I still have no idea why my last =3 Vortex Cap,Full Hole Inline and Half Circle Inline would just not feed even after moving the air inlet,changing chamber size, various blowguns,with/without plungers. So since then have looked for another and easier BB feeder as I have a few work mates that want BBMGS too, after seeing my old Cloud Pistol and Vortex Block Rifle.

It would be nice to finally get my 6mm Qev Gun up and running too but My pump action system was too unreliable and my Semi Feeder I had would not single fire? so yeh not much luck in the BB Gun construction these days...................

I know what you mean.
I made a rifling machine today wich basically destructed itself.

I rifled about 15 cm perfectly, and then the nuts came off.Destroyed the threads on everything.I could just keep turning them, they were essentially turned into useless rings.

\oh...and no...I won't share any more info as I plan to use the same design , but with superior materials, and sell rifled barrels.
Aluminium ones with 1/2" threads on one end.


So far I've recontructed the machine 4 times and every time it broke due to weak nuts.

I never knew my nuts were this weak, before today...
