Dude, you cranked this out in one day, and in most cases, that isn't really the best way to go. I hope it works!!

haha yeah i read a couple of your post about spending the time to make a good gun rather than making alot of guns in a short period of time

but i dunno how i can spend my time building "A GOOD GUN" when i know how to build everything and yeah, maybe i should spend more time building the block and design

Yeah he tells me that all the time, but its good to make a cheap quick prototype before you make a realalistic expensive time consuming one, after a while your want to start making good, asthetic guns, good work on this one BTW
That is all.

k lol i shot my gun, wasnt that great at first my shroud is made out of construction paper and then it got jammed
ROFl

then i fixed it and it fired like crazy from just one burst

but yeah its not as efficient as some builds i've seen from other people

ill build another gun with a better block and barrel later lol

does anyone know some specific builds, materials with dimensions and stuff for perfection

mine :D
But seriously, I think mine is pretty well built and it is as efficient as it can be except for the barrel, which is 7.14mm. I want to get some 6mm tube that I can put inside the existing barrel though.

The commonly accepted optimum hole is 3/4". I would also recommend not using construction paper next time. I have found aluminum flashing to work well for shrouds.

@gunfreak

hey i like the vortex block you made, mine was uneven

btw did you shove a pvc inside your wooden block?

@irisher
oh alright, thanks, i was thinking of using wood like gun freak as a shroud

but anyways i now know if you make everything to perfection it will work perfectly

btw what do you guys think work best as a vortex block

and im using a 1 1/2 abs chamber

Wood could work but it will wear out. I used clay formed around a short piece of pipe. It was easy to install and allowed me to make the hopup inside of the clay block.

Wood works fine for me because I reinforced the inside with PVC. Also the wood I used for the shroud is still good.

Back when I used to make vortex blocks, I just went to a local plastics store and asked for acrylic blocks, 1/2" thick x 1.5" long x 1.25" height (for 1 1/4" PVC). I could make probably 4 blocks in an hour with a drill, ruler, and a sharpie without much trouble.
I've never had a jam, a broken block, or any kind of vortex block malfunction at all.

Decent work for a first gun, by the way.

I know that one of our sponsors sell clear Pvc. I don't know what size or length though.
