Im thinking about putting a home made( adjustable) hop up of some sort on my L85 A1 Rifle, its just an old LS Brand Airsoft Springer but I love it.

As you lot know Im in Australia and yes these are illegal here and very very rare so I dont want to ruin the barrel but a hop up would make the gun much more fun to shoot :D

Adjustable would be difficult; fixed is more easily achieved. I've made a hop up by putting a rubber square with a v-notch cut out of the bottom in the square cut out on the barrel, works like a charm. You can adjust it by fiddling around with it until you get the desired effect :P

Well you wouldnt believe it, but I actually got it off Aussie Ebay about 8 years ago. I spotted it after searching everyday on ebay for such items and from memory cost me $250.00, its one of those old LS brand airsoft guns that came in kit form but is really, nice quality!! :D .

I put some rubber washers infront of the spring so the spring will compress more and definately increased power,I cant give it a stronger spring cause the spring sear is only plastic( strong but still plastic). I'll try get a pic up.

Also got an DONG SAN Spas 12 off ebay around the same time!, after reading this
http://www.airsoftcore.com/plugins/p2_n ... icleid=177 I plan on trying to import the M120 spring for it but I fear customs will confiscate the spring?.

The Semi Auto GBB I have (the Haw San Glock) ive now decided to sell it just will not feed bbs right no matter what, though I can see I'll only get half of what I paid for it but it has to go, pics of the glock here

Yeh I know about the S.A situation= Airsoft guns for sale at Brickworks Markets but regulated at a pathetic 180 fps and you have to licence them!.Do you know if you can buy good quality BB Pellets there= I need LOTS or will do shortly :D

Why not just purchase a actual hopup unit for the rifle?

Ive just taken the gun apart and took numerous pics plus measured the barrel = the OD is 10mm and the ID just a fraction over 6mm so is a tightbore barrel!, im doubting that these bought hop ups are made for barrel's as thick as 10mm?.

If I can somehow retro-fit a bought hop device I'll do so but only if I know 100% I wont stuff up the gun, look like it might be hard to integrate into this particular gun as its from the early 90's!!. Will try get the pics up later today, plus pics of my other airsoft guns

Sorry for the delay chaps, heres the pics! :D let me know if you think I could somehow fix a bought Hop Up Unit to this but given that thick barrel I doubt a hop up would fit over it?.
I made up a scope rail as the silly pretend sight that comes with the gun is useless!,that cheapy red dot sight is pretty terrible and am looking for another Red Dot sight for it, I can hit cans down at about 10 meters outside but a hop up would improve things.

Pitty I can't give her more power but the Sear is plastic and I think it would snap off, wish I could get the rubber piston head to seal better as its pretty loose in there but its a specific shape so cant try put a larger one in there.

I could do with another mag as mine only just holds the bbs cause the mag lips are worn, i"m almost positive that the HFC L85A1 Springerhas the exact same mag! but I cant see how I can get the mag into the country
heres some pics of the old manual

Looks like a cheapo depot brand to me lol

Any way you could make little spacer things to wedge in and possibly adjust it? It's hard to tell by the pictures how it works.

It's not cheap light and flimsy, its actually really well made and good quality plastics!.

It just works like a springer pistol mate, you just pull the Charge handle back It engages the piston on that sear( 3rd pic),let go,the air nozzel slides forwards pushing a bb out the mag and into the chamber, pull the trigger it disengages the sear, piston flies forwards and the air propells the bb out.

Heres the Spas 12, I need to try get an M120 Spring into the country and fit that but taking this thing apart and assembling it again is a real nightmare, peices fly everwhere. I know for you guys where Airsoft is legal these seem like junk but to us Aussies these are pure gold as they are impossible to get here.

Again I need a new mag for this too,the end has a Crack, they are available from the U.K but I cant see it getting into the country
