Guys, I am happy to say I finally have an AEG!! a Galaxy MP5K and with the illegality of these here in oZ I paid a small fortune but I love it!.

Its missing one of the Pins that hold on the Rear Plate( Battery Cover) and I cant seem to source a spare one anywhere online??, can anyone here help with sourcing spare parts like this for the Galaxy MP5?.

Its still got the Stock battery and im looking for a new/better one but unsure what to buy? it takes an 8.4v Stick battery,I dont want to have to try beef up internals yet so cant run a much higher voltage battery. What do you guys recommend?,from what ive read the first thing guys do is buy a better quality battery.

Also I want to fit a Red Dot Sight but will need some sort of HIGH mount I suspect or else the current front sight will get in the way of the Red Dot Sight.I want to take care of the sight situation ASAP as the stock open sights are rubbish as theres no windage adjustment and she shoots left.

Any advice much appreciated as im new to AEG's

For battery, try Sanyo, their batteries are very good, i have using Sanyos batteries in my AUG and in P90, they work very well and lasts long. Plus they dont cost very much

This forum isn't exactly for store-bought airsoft guns, have you tried asking around airsoft forums?

He's in Aus GF, you get banned for stating your location.

If you can measure where the pin goes, you could get one turned, for a significant investment, it's worth it.

And careful with the laser, if it's over 1mw, it won't get through customs. And they send you a warning letter, stating that the next infringement will result in charges being laid.

elite battery cells are the best IMO

and no not because they have the name elite, they just have higher capacity (mah) than most of the same size cell. They also have better discharge rates.

and they have a custom configuration for connections, etc

If the gun is good quality then yes you can use a stronger bttery for higher ROF. But if you don't think it can stand up to the increased wear then I'd be cautious.

Well Im unsure as different sites say different things but it uses the Version 3 Gearbox if thats any help to anyone here?...

Version 3 is simply a configuration of the gearbox, and it's the common type in an MP5 style gun. It doesn't exactly hint to quality.

I don't think it would increase wear in the sense that you're not increasing the stress on the system, it's still the same gears pushing on the same spring.

Granted, they're doing it faster, so one second on the trigger means more shots meaning more normal wear, but it's not going to break it.

You'd be more likely to damage it by fitting a stronger spring, because then you're asking everything from the motor to the frame to do harder work, not the same work at a faster rate.

Thanks Jack,I'll buy the 9.6V then I know the charging handle area has to cut down to get the longer battery in there but that's ok

as per here http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums/in ... ic=65502.0

I contacted that U.S Airsplat site regarding buying uupgrade parts for this Galaxy MP5 and they replied saying they had no upgrade parts for it!!!?? though through googling everyone is saying Marui MP5 parts fit straight into this gun?......

If it's a V3 mechbox, then any mechbox described as such should fit.
