Hey everyone I'm wanting to buy a scope and I'm not to sure on what scope to buy I've been looking a red dot scopes and rifle scopes but I don't wanna buy one that is overkill and a waste of money on something I can't use to its full potential. 8)

What are you putting it on?

What is the intended usage?

What are your expectations?

IMO, unless you've a rifled barrel and consistent ammo that fits the barrel much more than a red dot is overkill on a spuddy.

For my most recent airsoft build, I've been alternating between a cheapo red dot and my 6x40. Because you can track the BB by eye, the magnification helps a lot, I can follow it out to 50 meters without trying.

Dealextreme sells a heap of cheap scopes and red dots, I bought the 45mm "Walther", and it's been on a .30-06 without losing zero, so it's pretty decent. Don't buy the 4x20mm, it's a complete waste of money for anything, ever. I still might grab one so I don't have a big arse scope on top of my mk1 carbine.

This is what I bought, but any of the following will do for your uses.

Iv got Walther 6x32 Mil dot scope (from dx) and i have been pretty satisfied with it. Sits very nicely on top of my FWB 124 sport, and soon on my 2240.

But what comes to spudguns id says even red dot might be overkill :D

If you're putting it on a spudgun the cheapest one you can find is enough, especially when using PVC.
One of those cheap gamo-scopes (€14) will be more than sufficient.

I'm putting it on my my homemade airsoft gun it's fairly accurate as it is. So I'm thinking if I put a scope on it I should be able to increase my aim a lot more.
