Need Some Advice

So this is the setup I currently have at the moment

How can I gain some velocity and/or range? Would achieving higher pressures help by much? I'm still looking to make the barrel longer since it's only 14 inches right now, how much longer would you guys advise? Also, If I use those mini CO2 cartridges to achieve higher pressures in the gun, would the CO2 damage it in any way? The firing chamber is tiny, its 1/2'' pipe by 3'', any advice on that?

To answer those questions in some sort of order:

- More pressure will be one of the more effective ways of increasing energy.
- The best barrel length is "as long as you are happy to put up with".
- CO2 probably won't cause damage, but bear in mind that CO2 is a dense gas with a low speed of sound - a factor that may actually cost performance.
- I'd still keep it pretty small. As it is, 1/2" diameter by 3" length might not seem like much, but it's already pretty dang huge as compared to your barrel volume and making it larger will just use up your onboard air faster.

Hey,
How much pressure do you have and why do you have a ball valve when the slide valve shuts the air of.
Is it to so you can regulate it a bit?

well I broke this down a while ago, I had it at about 150 psi from a bike pump because that was all I had. When you push the slide valve forward to fill the chamber, a bit of air leaks out. If for some reason the slide valve jams or you move it too slow, a lot of air will leak out. The ball valve prevents that bit of air from leaking, saving you a couple of shots. And I guess it sorta acted as a safety also.
