i have been wanting to make a homemade bb gun which i can carry around without having to pump up a tank or have it attach to a air compressor, and i have finally found something that might work. http://www.swanstrom.net/petes/shoot/autobb.htm i have everything i need for it to work except i cant get thick enough plexiglass for it anywhere!!! it doesnt have to be plexiglass it can be anything really, i have been looking on the web all diy stores around my area, and i cant find it anywhere, so if anyone knows of any sites that plexiglass or something similar and can deliver to victoria australia please let me know!!! i was thinking of using abs sheet but i cant find that anywhere, i cant really use metal as i dont have a drill press strong enough to drill through it!
thanks in advance damo.

I was able to drill holes through .25" steel with a crappy 12volt hand drill and bits that werent designed to go through metal :)
You should be able to do it. Either that or get the nicest looking hardwood you can.

im going to be using co2 so wouldnt the hardwood just absorb it all? i could try and put a silicon seal through the holes?

If it has to hold pressure from a standard co2 tank then no, dont use hardwood. plexiglass it brittle and not pressure rated. lexan would probably work and you can find it at most home depot/lowes

Or you could just switch to another hard material, such as sheet PVC or acrylic.

are you planning on using a regulator for your co2? if not i would use steel or alumminum unless you like picking plastic shards from ur hands
