not necicerilly, swat snipers are usually making shots at around 500-1000 feet

That's why they shouldn't be called snipers. They're marksmen. Sharpshooters. Snipers empploy more than just shooting straight. They shoot straight, at long distances. They are masters of camoflage. There are stories of enemies coming within just a few fet of a sniper and not noticing them.

In the last 5 years of serious use with basic maintenence and heavy oiling, I have never had to replace a single part. First upgrade would be to get a better barrel, I am currently using a 14" Smart Parts Tear Drop barrel with great accuracy. Typically any barrel longer than 14" is too long. Another upgrade I recommend is an expansion chamber.

Hahaha, but anyway, the type of gun you get is dependant on how you play really.

OH! And the TL-R comes with a drop-forward already installed.

And on pbreview.com they're both rated a 9.2 out of 10.

well i do the occasional woods play at private land, and also i go to the local paintball fields every once in a while to play their courses, which are mostly wooded. i have a really old and broken jt marker and im looking to upgrade so i think iv now changed my mind to getting the TL-R

Well the best thing is to find someone who has a 98 custom and someone who has a tl-r and try them out. Or find a field that rents both models. Try it out and see which one you like best. Only problem with that is, I'm not sure how popular the tl-rs are, the market wasn't flooded with them like tippman did with the 98s. It may be hard to find one to try out.

yeah i need to see if anyone i know has the tlr but i know a buddy of mine has a heavily upgraded 98 custom.

Well find someone with a 98 that would be within your price range. A lot of people spend more money on the mods for their 98's than they did for the gun itself. You want to find something that would be in your price range so you know what to expect when you buy it. You may be happy with a heavily modded one, but the ones in your price range may not perform as well.

this is true. the problem is that most people that buy 98's usually mod them and today is the first ive heard of a TR-L

If you're up for a challenge buy a Phantom.It is not for everyone but it is quite a kick to go up against guns that ramp at 29 bps. When you have a gun with a 10 rd. tube and 12 grams.

I'd say get bored with the Semi first.No need to get stuck with a pump when all you want is action.Of course I'm nostalgic and prone to not liking electronic guns.Take Paaiyan's advice and borrow them both to see what you like.

Shownomercy,Me being condescending...No say it isn't so.Go with Rmich's suggestion of the .68 cal. pipe.The PGP's still use the off the shelf brass pipe.
I can tell you though, you'll find the best grouping with the larger ball sizes such as Proball,Chronic, and the like.Can't wait for it to be done

wow those phantoms are pretty sweet looking. ill most likely get one eventuallly. possibly once i get a little bit better at paintball with a semi, so i can use it with less chance of getting totally dominated

Yep, they are the step up when you get tired of shooting your wallet out every time you play.In my case I play with my cannon for the most part.But when I want to have fun I bring out my PGP or my Phantom.

yeah i would play with one of my cannons except im pretty sure the texas fields dont like that. which makes no sense cause im pretty sure you can own more weapons, legally, in texas than you cane elsewhere
