What is the smallest hole you can drill for a .177 caliber gun. I am trying to build a vortex that resembles the calico gun. The main part of the gun where the vortex block will be is 1 inch pvc. How small can the hole be?does it help if I made an rounded off rectangle instead of a circle?

3/4 is the smallest I have heard of, and it must be perfectly round or the bb;s will bounce around and not make it into the barrel.

i have seen a vortex gun made in 1" or 1 1/4" pipe before on this forum i cant remember the name but i have defiantly seen one. if a 3/4 full hole vortex block is too big for you a 3/4 partial hole might work. look for one of noname's vortex blocks in the classifieds section of the forum if you don't know what im talking about

you could do 3/8" hole but that pretty small (losely fits 2 bbs across the diameter) I'd just do a 1/2"

Most of my strafers use either 1" or 1 1/4" PVC as the body, and I shoot airsoft, which are bigger than metal BBs. It's hard to explain how to make it, it's just kind of subconscious.
