never mind....
Yeah, I noticed that a couple nights ago myself. I let the domain lapse. I'll probably just let it die. I will have to find somewhere else to rehost HGDT/GGDT if folks care, but thehalls-in-bfe is a chapter of my life that I should probably close.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:hmmm, I wonder...
While you're here, your thehalls-in-bfe domain appears to be down...
LOL. No worries.Moonbogg wrote:I weigh just about 185lbs...hmm. Hey D_Hall, I'd like to apologize for my smart ass comment I made 10 years ago
Thanks. One of these days I need to get off my ass and write the next version. I've had it mapped out in my head for so long....I also greatly appreciate the work you've done in providing HGDT to the community. It's been a valuable tool of incredible convenience when designing my cannons.
Yup, she's still around. There's even talk of building her a big brother since some of the things she's been asked to do lately are on the ragged edge of what she's capable of. I give it a 25% chance of happening.cfb_rolley wrote:Hey, vera still exists?
The folks that care really do care, it really is an invaluable resource you've given to this hobby.D_Hall wrote:I will have to find somewhere else to rehost HGDT/GGDT if folks care
Oh ho... bigger bore or bigger pressure? In the past a 36" bore was used for this sort of work...There's even talk of building her a big brother since some of the things she's been asked to do lately are on the ragged edge of what she's capable of.
Oh, believe me, we care. I know I do, big time. I just downloaded HGDT again recently from your site when I decided to build a new cannon. It would not have been as easy, convenient or simply as good without HGDT to guide the way and help me aim for that ball park performance I was after. An updated version of HGDT would be absolutely BADASS and might even stimulate a renewed interest in the hobby. What sort of features do you have in mind? I'm dying to hear about it.D_Hall wrote: Yeah, I noticed that a couple nights ago myself. I let the domain lapse. I'll probably just let it die. Higher pressure. From 50 meters only the trained eye would likely be able to see the difference(s), but the goal would be 3X the muzzle energy and a simplified designed (we've learned a lot... VERA was made a lot more complicated than she needed to be simply to address unknowns).jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Oh ho... bigger bore or bigger pressure? Thanks. I suppose I'll have to start looking around for a place to host it.Moonbogg wrote:Oh, believe me, we care. I know I do, big time. Sweet. I imagine you'd have to let the trailer roll a little to deal with the increased recoil? You're currently at about 25% of the energy of a 155mm howitzer on full charge...D_Hall wrote:the goal would be 3X the muzzle energy and a simplified designed (we've learned a lot... I never thought about it that way. So many defective hybrids out there! That is to say that a pneumatic is just a valved hybrid that experienced a misfire
