I live in the Bay Area, which is, according to my parents, one of the most expensive places in America. I can believe it. People didn't believe it when I said 1 1/2" copper pipe was $23.99 a foot, and regular 2" Sch 40 PVC is $2.25 per foot. It's ridiculous, and it sucks for me.

hey im thinking of making a hybrid but i have a question on the fueling do you put propane in the area where the pressure guage is then close that ball valve.. then add the compressed air to the same stell chamber where the pressure guage is close ball valve... and then realease into the firing chamber? :)

I think he leaves his ballvalve open at the chamber..
U calculate how much fuel u need in the chamber! with the propane metering system.
And the needed air is pumped in the chamber through the metering system for better mixing. but u dont presurise the metering systeem with air with ball valves closed

Cheers :P

Haha noname, that sucks! I can get a 5' piece of 2" sch 40 for like 5 bucks.
As for the copper, it's not much cheaper. A 2' piece of 3/4" M type copper pipe costs 15 bucks.

Any chances of damage shot..
Im busy with my 20x mix cannon and ive got a cannon almost simular to your design but i put more gass in myne cause my chamber is 2 inches so my meter setup works for that chamber. ill hope to post the cannon later this week when i have my camera.
Also my cannon is hand held.. ill try 7x mix max.. cause my fittings are class 300 that means 2000 psi and my union should held for 2000 also

cheers

So 5x mix hmm who has proven that ddt will ocur?
It doenst get in my my mind that it will happen... a normal motor cycle compresses gas and air way more the 5x mix..... to be precise it use a 14X mix of gasoline and air and no ddt occurs

could be me but i dont understand wy it should happen..and i know alot about Detonations..

Has is happend to anyone from the forum?
That ddt occured?

DDT needs a fair distance of run-up before it kicks in. In a motorcycle, there is only a small area for combustion to take place(plus the fact that the piston moves with the blast; this probably lessens the effect).

I dont think there are any reports of someone getting DDT'd at the moment. Fuzzyscorpion had his sch80 hybrid blow up, but no one knows for sure why it happend.
