Southeastern Spudders

Instead of digging up an old thread, I figured I'd create a new one.

ATTN: All interested in Spudding who reside around Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and the Western Florida panhandle, but if you can make the trip from elsewhere, come on down! We have a large plot of land with plenty of room for potato flinging.

I would like to get something together right around the beginning of Summer 2010 to give people plenty of time to make cannons, implement new designs, and figure out a way to get here. It will be held in Southeastern Mississippi an hour north of I-10 (specifics to come if there is interest). Lodging can be arranged.

The dates and times will come later if there is interest shown.

I don't want to give specific addresses until I know how many people can/will come. Google Lucedale, MS. we're within 30 minutes of there.

Unfourtunately that's ten hours away so you'll have to count out for this one.

It won't be until summer. Where outside of MS do you live, mark.f?

So I may have come across a more centrailzed location to have a spud-fest. It will be much more convenient for those who live in northwest AL, West TN, East AR, and Northeast LA. It is located in Grenada, MS off of I-55 with a couple of choices for lodging. It will hopefully happen right around the beginning/middle of summer if there is interest.

DRIVE TIMES:

Atlanta, GA-- 6 Hrs 45 mins.

St. Louis, MO-- 6 Hrs.

Nashville, TN-- 5 Hrs.

New Orleans, LA-- 4 Hrs. 45 mins.

Birmingham, AL-- 4 Hrs.

Little Rock, AR-- 4 Hrs.

Jackson, MS-- 2 Hrs.

I hope these times help some of you make your road tripping decision.

*bump*

I live a short day's drive from that location, and could possibly go, depending on when this meet is to take place.

I know you said early/mid summer, but it seems interest has waned. Any updated ideas on the date?
