Perhaps we've matured enough as a forum to realize how lame nerf guns are

People are people - they don't really know what they want

Interests change. Remember bell bottom jeans, mood rings, flower power? A thread on those would also be of limited interest. The only common interest here that I see on a consistant basis, is

MORE POWER
FASTER ROF

Nerf had it's run on making MORE POWER, but that has run it's course.

Speaking of Nerf, I enjoyed the software game Nerf Blast Arena. It was built from Unreal Tournament. Many UT maps were converted, some with interesting glitches. Due to the larger player sizes, some passages became too small for some charactors. Like UT, it came with a map editor and there was an active community of user generated maps, some very simple and some quite extensive and complex.

I had many fond memories of having LAN parties and running a server. I have a wired network in the house so the party extended from the living and dining room into some bedrooms.

The final game in the rotation was a total mayham round. No weapons except the pistol. One smallish round room. No shelter. For most players, it is instant spawn death, but the king of the hill doesn't last long as most people spawning do so while firing, and only the best manage to move to unpredicted locations to prevent being hit by the many spawns trying to knock him off while spawning.

Anyone else here play Nerf Arena Blast? If so, what was your favorite level in the game or from the community. My favorite was the Bathroom. Secrets are under the sink. Best sniping from the light or linnen closet. Best wepons are a deep dive in the tub, if you can get them without being shot.

I would have made some nerf guns if nerf darts aren't so damn expensive...

I've made 33% of all submitted topics in the Nerf showcase section...doesn't that count for something?

All very true... guess there was some interest but it's hard to compete with our attitude of bigger/faster/better!

I'd be making more if my son hadn't developed the same attitude.
Pretty soon he'll be playing with actual spudguns..

So, do you want nerfguns? Is it that importiant? I have this to say, unfortunately nerf is more of o younger kids game. I still will play with nerf things but more often than not it lacks something. My little cousin is realy the only one I'll have a nerfgun fight with, and that is because he can't have an Airsoft war. Nerfguns are fun for like stupid stuff with your friends but other than that I haven't seen a nerfgun used for much more than people shooting chips out of each others hands at 2 feet.

There is just a large community of people who collect/modify Nerf guns, and some of those people overlap with people that would like spud cannons! Just figured there would have been more interest. I've seen how interested some can be at work, it's amazing.

Well so far, I've encountered a problem, with nerf projectiles in a barrel is it better to
A) have a larger barrel (like 1/2" ID pipe) or
B) have a small closer to form fitting barrel
( using the streamlined darts)
