I figure other people get to make random threads, and greenhorns get to make useless threads, so I thought I’d give it a try:
So, what y’all up to?
What’s your current project(s)
How far along are you?
And could you give a brief history of said project(s).
I’ll go first:
My current projects are:
A 2inch paintball grenade launcher; double barreled side-by-side; break action; cartridge fed; extractors only (no ejectors).
The left barrel will be strait for grenades, the right barrel will be choked for paintball shot loads.
I’ve got the valves 88.8% done, all I need to do is glue ‘em, then comes the hard part: fill manifold, barrels, barrel pivot, stock, sights, break mechanism, the list goes on.
The story behind this one is long, so I’ll give you the highly abridged version:
When I was designing my latest grenade launcher I couldn’t decide between designing it for shot or grenades, then I slipped off and hit my head on the proverbial toilet (Back to the Future joke) and came up with the idea of a double gun.
At one point in time I kicked around the idea of making it a dreiling by adding a rifle barrel under the two 2inch barrels but decided that two barrels was complex enough…
My second project is keeping a promise I made to spudfiles members way back when:
The Valkyrie project, automatic cannon:
I’m working on a scaled back prototype in cal .68 full automatic; possibly belt fed.
Valve is 75% done, needs a little work, when I came in it kept jamming shut…
This project goes why back, anybody remember the Wookie gun or the G.A.R. 1 prototype?

im currently making a copper gun that truly feels like a rifle. ive built the entire gun, but i need to make a piston. dont know when i'll do it. i tried making a piton out of epoxy, but it broke in the mold. maybe ill make another one this weekend and finally finish it. after i built the gun, i set in the corner of my room and havent touched it since, but i really do need to finish it, it look to good to throw out.

judgement you know what im up to with my current projects (since both of ours are very similar)
I think im going to start up on another project though it will take a while for me to complete...
You know all those unregged co2 setups everyone is running for some BBMGs... I was thinking of running unregged co2 but instead of using one vortex block having multiple vortex blocks with multiple barrels sharing all the unregged co2 pressure split by a manifold into each vortex.
So I would probably have 6 vortex blocks running off the 800 or so PSI. Now with volume I know I wont get exactly 133PSI per vortex (800/6) but It will be interesting to see the PSI/CFM results as well as the ROF.
I figure with 6 vortex blocks running 133PSI each I would achieve a ROF of about 35000 bb's a minute. As I said before this is all hypothetically and there are numerous factors that would probably limit this number such as CFM etc.. but it would be cool to try none-the-less.
I think im going to start up on another project though it will take a while for me to complete...

Working my rear end off...
I've been prepping up for college(USMMA). So basically, full time academics, farm chores, new workout regiments(I hate running!), and trying to make enough spare cash to keep me in the black. Truth be told I actually enjoy it. Not everyday this opportunity comes by, I couldn't afford to miss this one.
So ya, No cannons as of late. I see my spare parts all the time but just haven't had enough time to tinker.

I just bought a 3/4 in. QEV from Mcmaster, and I'm deciding what to do with it. I was thinking BTB tribute sawed off, but then I thought I wanted it to be PVC. Any ideas for what I should do with it?

Right now, I'm contemplating what I'll be doing in the summer.
The main time consumer (other than work of course ) will be the liquid-fueled rocket powered go-kart that me and my friends are building. Right now we're thinking LOX/gasoline, but it'll be a while before that design gets finalised.
Also, I need a cannon for the summer. There's a million and one ideas running around in my head for what to do. Project THOR will be running about the same timeline as the cancelled [redacted] project, which puts its finish date well into 2009. The 20x hybrid in my sig will be rather impressive (nearly an exact duplicate of FEAR in terms of power), but I need something fun to shoot, that doesn't consume ridiculous quantities of foil.
I may end up going with something solid fueled, or I may build a low pressure prototype of THOR. I've also considered, among other things, a recoilless piston valved hybrid, a detonation gun, a 6" bore 2x oxy/hydrogen mortar (which would likely be a detonation gun anyway ), a 100x mini, and a 200 bar steam cannon. Any suggestions would be welcome at the moment, as I really haven't decided yet.

I am trying to finish this condo project so I can get back to ID and use all this sch 80 pvc I have been accumulating...
I also have a LOT of sawdust flour to send burning into the atmosphere. I also have created a much larger cannon to shoot it out of. Bigger and higher fireballs!
There is a large treehouse waiting to be finished, too.
... and replacing windows + siding the house.
Plumbing, wiring and installing a kitchen in my shop (I am making a living space there so it can double as a guest house)
Oh, and taking a Spanish course from the local community college in order to brush up.
It should be a pretty dull summer.

Well, I'm Just finish(ing) a 1" over under (Toro) sprinkler valved pvc spud launcher.
Been taking my time because I work crazy hours now. And I wanted to make it as safe as possible because I'm planning to give it to a relative for a b-day present.
It shoots spuds but I have another barrel (Sleaved so it's 3/8" or 1/4"ID)that uses some new components. So I'll be posting pics of it to show that. Also the way it's attached I haven't seen posted before.
Dang toro valve works best at only 10-15 pumps but sort of works strangely with more, so I may re-mod it to include the guide rod or just leave it and only pump it up 10-15 times.(more work)
Next I'd like to build a test bed for testing recoilless barrel lengths.
It will probably have a large chamber with the output of a 1" sprinkler valve going into the bottom of a "T" and have threaded PVC fittings for testing different pipe lengths. Eventually I will scale it up with the information I learn.
Also next I will be testing and updating my old post about Husky sandblasters.
(I learned the 10 ft. hose it came with is pretty worthless for holding pressure while building the 1" it kept blowing up) Hehe!!!
And I'd like to design a mini pneumatic that uses a drinking flask for the chamber. And get a how-to on a useful ammo design.

I am in the process of finishing an onboard metered propane gun with a 4 inch by 3 foot chamber and a sleeved golf ball barrell at about 10 foot (CB barrel is crazy, but all of my guns are like that, makes me feel american). It will have all the bells and whistles and is costing me a fortune.
