Done that with a friend who wanted to test firearms in his basement without disturbing the neighbours - 55 gallon drum, rubber sheet, some sand, worked a treat.

As to the APFSDS shot, it would appear that lateral forces on the sabot are causing it to bend creating friction which does not allow the sabot to separate smoothly....

ITWOST I figured out these so called ".38 caliber" slingshot ammo ball bearings are really .375"... Also known as 3/8" which would be much easier to buy in bulk from mcmaster's :( . But anyways, they sure are leaving nice clean holes in 3/4" pine @ 70 BAR

Well... The magazine hasn't worked out how I've hoped, it double feeds :(

This is a 1/4" QEV launcher with a PB 1/8" slide valve pilot. The only special thing about it is that it uses the detent from the pressure washer launcher from before I added the mag

Same issues I was having, hence thoughts of an interrupter:

Which - I may have mentioned this before - would be an interesting lathe/mill project....

Should I give it another try? I think the main problem last time was the color, a manly color should correct any stability issues.

Not making it pink will certainly make it more stable and resistant to damage

A longer looser lighter sabot might also help ;)

See I don't think it's the colour, look at ICBMs, it's the shape and girth that matters.

All males know that if something is more phallic, it will be more powerful. It's instinct.

And I'm joking of course

To the women who complain that missiles and rockets are phallic symbols, let them make a vagina shaped ICBM and see how far it gets.

Female genitalia have a terrible drag coefficient.

Touché JSR. But think, it would be the ultimate weapon.

All the men would be distracted, then the opposing force could sneak in (wearing special goggles of course)1, and take over the country without a drop of blood spilled.

1 Note I cleverly avoided discriminatory statements

ah, but countries already use enormous vaginas in the shape of politicians as a distraction and sadly that doesn't seem to avoid bloodshed1

1 - note I cleverly avoided making light of the menstrual cycle

Anyway, this is getting slightly off topic ;)

It will definately look better when it's flat black :D

You used polycarbonate for the tail section, if i'm right?
If you use a hollow plastic tube, the center of gravity will be further forward.

Well, 1/4" QEV bodies can take 100 BAR, too bad the rubber diaphragm is not quite as strong; it blew a small crack right through the center.

On the lighter side of things, i've come into possession of some SS parts including a nice union for an ultra high mix hybrid :D
