The union didn't explode.

I believe I stated quite clearly in my post that the breach exploded.
If the cannon had exploded, there'd be a thread about it.

The breach was ABS, so no shrapnel to speak of. The fix is simple (cast reinforced concrete around the new one), but annoying, because I wanted to get three shots today. The reason it exploded was that I had to maul it with a pipe wrench last week to get it apart after it was cross threaded.

And the whole "calling bullsh*t" thing was kind of a joke... Because when you have a 230ci, 500 psi, 3" bore, 18 foot long steel burst disk gun, people will, for some reason, believe any range claim you make.

The union is 2", the barrel is 3". Kind of difficult to breach load through that I imagine :lol:

@ DYI wow, 1 mile is a long way away lol, mabe some day i can build a cannon to shoot that far, and mabe not destroying its self in the process :wink: were you remote firing it when the cannon broke?

i passed grade 9 math... and grade 10 math (barely) but all we learned was the midpoint, linear equations, slope, and something about the slope of a circle that i fell asleep in that class and missed the whole lesson... my bad :roll: i don't understand any of the math you guys were using.

DYI,

You could have made the whole process a lot simpler by using the formula:

Area = nr<sup>2</sup>sin(pi/n)cos(pi/n)

for the area of that polygon, where n is the number of sides, and r is the radius of the circle the polygon was inscribed in.

Therefore, your polygon would have an area of about 306.1467 square units, according to the cheap Casio calculator I'm using right now.

If you care to know where I got that from, here's the scrap I did it on. I find things much simpler to do in a general sense first, and THEN move on to the specific criteria of the problem.

:x :x :x wow, that is advanced math, only thing i understand is there you used the pathagreum theriun (i cant spell either) (A^2+B^2=C^2 thingy) ( that is what you used right?)

edit: oh yea... and i kinda get that sin thing you were doing on the left, not sure excactly what you were doing though. i forget most of that stuff from math already.

I don't know what kind of school you go to SB15, but at our school, that is the advanced Grade 11 level. And by using that formula, I came out with an answer of 0.19635 units2 :?

Thats geometry that i have already learned but i didnt learn all of that. I think there is also some trig in there as well.

At my school, that math can be 9th, 10th or 11th grade math. If you come from the middle school (public) then you can take algebra and geometry and then start off highschool with trig and end up with taking statistics in 12th grade. But i didnt go to the public middle school so i started out with algebra :( which by the way was extremely easy.
