SpudFiles

Hi there. I'm cinda new here, and this whole concept of spudguns is cinda new to me! I've allways liked to experiment with stuff. Mostly the type of stuff that goes *BOOM*. So when i discovered this site i thought i'd might give this a try . I am a complete rookie. And just to prove to myself that i could actually build something that would work i was planning of building the most basic spudgun ever to be seen, before i start building something serious.

I think i'm starting to get a basic understanding of this (in theory, that is). And now i am planning to do the following:

1: I am going to take some suitable combustion chamber (probably ca 1500-2000cc).

2: I am going to attach a pipe to it in a suitable manner.

3: In the other end i will place a lid, for fueling.

4: Place some form of obstacle in the pipe to prevent ammo from falling down into the combustion chamber, without stopping the expanding gas from exiting.

5: Build some form of ignitor from 3 x 9v batteries and some wire, and place in the combustion chamber.

6: stuff some suitable ammo down the pipe.

7: Open the lid to the combution chamber and spray.. Hmm... Maybe that deodorant everyone's talking about? Except it's not sold here in sweden . Perhaps starter gas

8: Then i am going to ignite and see what happens.


Now, i've been living with me for almost nineteen years, and since i came up with this idea, i am absolutely positive that there must be a reason as to why this would be an incredibly stupid thing to do. Or is it really as easy as it seems?

if u use the 9 volt batteries hook em up to an ignition coil, or use a bbq igniter, umm...... and if u look around most people who build this are still intact, but make sure its legal first! someplaces u can go to jail

Actually, i've already got a small record concerning weapon related crime . As i mentioned earlier, i cinda like stuff that goes *BOOM*. And i seriously doubt that this is legal anywhere in Sweden.

Anyway, i honestly dont give a shit. I use what i build in a safe manner, far from anyone else, and nobody but me will ever risk injury or prosecution. And in case i do get nailed, it's only a SEK 1200 fine. That's about 150 bucks. That's a risk i'm willing to take.

I actually just decided to go for somthing like a bbq igniter. I'll probably detach one from a regular cigarett lighter, and then solder it to some wires. Here in sweden, ignition coils isn't exactly something you buy at wall mart. Heck... We don't even have wall mart.

Btw: I realize that a spudgun (if correctly assembled and used) will not harm me in any way. I was simply wondering if it could really be as easy to bulid as described above. I had an uneasy feeling that i was missing something, or had missunderstood something (After all, all info about spudguns are in english, and i'm a poorly educated swede.).

You cant buy them at the walmarts in America either. If im not mistaken there is cars in Sweeden (find a junkyard or a old car). Everything sounds like it will work except the ignition like beebs said. When you break laws and recieve infromation via this site you also put the life of Spudfiles in jeopreday (thats why talking about illegal stuff is not allowed). Even though the chance is rare its still possible considering that you live in sweeden. Your english is fricken good seeing as its not your primary language. Off topic but there is some way hot (girl) sweeds (wish that I could live in Sweeden so that I could hook up with some of them! By the way why are building cannons when you got all these hot girls? JK)

They need more "firepower" for them

Pimpmann22: Oh, i actually didn't consider that before you mentioned it. And i definitly wouldn't want to screw up spudfiles rep! I think i'm going to check if it coud be legal to play around with spudguns on private property outside city limits or something. (Usually when i deal with stuff that goes *BOOM* in any way i just place it in the middle of the largest, emptiest forest or field i can find.) And i won't be discussing illegal matters again. My appologies!

To be honest i haven't actually read the spudfiles rules. (And since i am head of moderators on a major swedish community i truly understand how stupid that is) I tried to read the rules when i registered, but the link was dead. I probably should go looking for those rules right about now...

Now, about those girls... Why wish? You can do anything if you put your mind into it . But in sweden, that thing about the beautiful swedish girls is widely considered a myth . The reason i need a spudgun is that my girl is staying with her family over the weekend and i REALLY need something to keep me occupied . + I think of it as a challenging and funny thing to do .
