Lead fumes are toxic, and I don't have a respirator yet. And if it went through the target, and missed the backstop (or missed both

I think this thread has caught on so quickly because I've promoted the SCTBDC so much that people automatically associate me with it, kind of like schmanman and the SWAT gun, BTB and high pressure, Nova and custom machined parts, and, of course, JSR and his beloved epoxy. When I post a thread with a title like this, people just associate the two. I think the HEAL has become quite well known too, with the 6 pages of replies on its topic.
If I'm feeling rich, I might get a 1-1/4" barrel and shoot some supersonic ice slugs too. (1300+ fps)

As for the snowman, maybe I can use flechettes on it instead of the airsoft rounds, and hide jugs full of red paint inside it. Either that, or a whole bunch of little ice slugs in the barrel. Now I just need to figure out how to mass produce the flechettes... Any ideas?

For the flechettes, by cheap brads and hammer the heads of them flat. Crude and time-consuming, but a relatively cheap solution. Good luck DYI!!

Why not all 3, red water/paint, (i knew i seen that somewhere), raw ground beef, and cooked noodles, (so they bend and all). Poor poor snowman, i allmost feel sorry for him.....not!schmanman wrote:

I was thinking either lots of small slugs, made from ice, or possibly a few hundred ball bearings. Then maybe fire 2 chained together Pykrete slugs at it to rip it in half at the end.

As suggested above, getting large wood nails and hammering the heads flat into fins will give you a quick effective flechette round - just make sure it's properly supported in a sabot tho, otherwise it will skew on firing and potentially damage your barrel.

Well, it turns out that I won't be making the video until the spring. Some ABS pipe on a box we made for skiing/snowboarding actually shattered because it was so cold when we hit it, and I don't want a 3" barrel with 2 pounds of Pykrete in it to explode at 450 psi... Sorry about that, but I have all the materials, and the tank back, so you can expect a video in the spring.
