Quite a few topics like this at the moment, so you'll know the principle.

There should be a HEAL video being made in the next couple of weeks, and I'm a bit short of ideas for what to do.
Suggestions for both ammo and targets are welcome, but keep it reasonable in terms of safety and cost.

I know HEAL is one of the smaller "high power" cannons and not nearly as destructive, but HEAL may be a bit more powerful than in the previous vid. I'll be doing some fiddling, and using some more pressure if I can - last time used 21 bar, and I might use 25 or 30 bar next time - no promises though.

My ideas so far:
- Blowing a melon up
- Trying to pierce 6mm steel plate with an APDSFS round
- Some form of ballistic gel
- Water penetration
- More fun with paintballs and potatoes
- How close can I get to the sound barrier?
- A box of truth. What is in it is to be decided.
- Accuracy testing
- Firing the heavy 20mm steel rod.

I'm also debating the wisdom of firing a full 12g CO₂ bulb at steel plate. The explosion would look cool, but I think it's probably just too risky - and it wouldn't set a good safety example to people watching it. Please, no "OMG How can you be so stupid?!?" posts about that - right now, I am thinking "No", but... well.

Nothing is guaranteed, but I'll see what can be done.

It's a 20.3mm bore (~.80"), but hard projectiles should really be no more than 20mm (or .79") to avoid problems - soft things like veggies or plasticine will be fine if they're a bit big.

This isn't really something to shoot at, but something to shoot.

Since lead sinkers are quite soft and get nailed on impact, you should try shooting one at the hardest object you can find, and see how much damage you can do to one.

Other then that, CRT screens, old printers, laptops what ever.

put a load of flour behind some of your projectiles so that when you fire theres a HUGGEEE cloud of dust out the front, kinda like old school muskets.

for projectiles, any kind of long, heavy, pointy objects. do you have any throwing darts???? you can cut down the fins and make some pretty sick(and powerful) darts. some are even lined with ridges, perfect for a sabot.

for stuff to shoot at, i reccomend things that just get inhilated when they get hit. things like soda bottles filled with water, milk jugs filled with water, buckets of TNT (kidding)......

one thing i did once that was cool was to "snipe" a large soda bottle pressurized to 150 PSI. just stick a shrader in the top, pump it up, set it up, then shoot it. the noise that follows is possibly one of the loudest and most powerful air explosions you will ever hear. (last time i did it the force of the shockwave broke my sawhorse.............. btw if anyone knows how to construct a good sawhorse let me know i need one for target holding).

also, shoot broken electronics. like old cell phones, old computers.........

and best of all, shoot things that you wouldnt expect to fly nice. like balls of plasicine clay or my favorite, hersheys kisses.

Well, I don't have any TNT, but I do know how to make nitroglycerine...

I actually already have a fitting that connects to soda bottles to allow me to pressurize them. I planned to use it in the last video, but I didn't have time, I was only home over the weekend, and there weren't many hours to shoot in.

And lead bits seem quite popular. I might have to compromise with lead free solder, I know it's less dense, but I'd prefer not to mess with lead. I did wonder about casting a hollow point round of sorts, and using that versus a lump of BG type stuff.

Old/broken electronics for shooting may be in short supply, but we shall see.

What do people think about buckshots of airsoft or steel BBs?

yea i know but it would look cool another thing would be to shoot a bunch of glow sticks but that would be messey to. i ike the idea of putting some shaving cream and peanut buter and jelly in a sabot and shotting that at some plywood

the soda bottle was hit on the side, and the side of the bottle ripped sideways and inhilated the sawhorse. and because it ripped sideways, it shot backwards REALLY FAST and smashed the other side of the sawhorse. it was a plastic sawhorse, not a wooden one. i want to get a wooden one so i can do it again tho.

I wish. It never snows until January around where I live, and I was hoping to get the video done by Christmas.

Omg! How could you be so stupid as to NOT fire a full co2 bulb at a steel plate! For the Armour Piercing dart i would suggest lining up about 6 or so pennies each with a piece of cardboard sandwiched in between, tape them up and see how many you pierce (i managed to pierce 3 20cent coins, a total of 7mm) Also water filled Lager cans, line up about 12 and see if you can put a bb through them.
One thing that JSR and i like to see is stuff shatter, any chance of procuring a piece of approx 10mm thick Acrylic, i smashed a piece about 150mm square into 8 pieces.
For your box of truth i suggest using thinish sheet steel, cheap and easy.
That or cut up some aluminium cans and use the remaining "sheets"

@IM: I've never found that 1p coins can fit down 22mm barrels. They measure 20.35 mm across, and the barrel is only 20.3mm on average - some parts are only 20.2mm

The flechette nail/needle ideas are interesting. I might do it with the nails, they're cheaper and a bit heavier.

Some ideas there I might be using...

@Nova: Also some interesting ideas. I don't know about the gas bulbs, it could be more dangerous than I want to mess with. I obviously can't do it at close range for my safety, and missing at long range could be equally risky.

I don't have much sheet steel around. I have a rusty piece of 6mm about 6" by 6", a couple of small bits of 2mm, and I'm pretty short on 1mm, but there may be some somewhere.
