Alright, unless PCGUY has a problem with it I would like to start a little mini competition.

The goal is to produce a video of your single favorite shot. One exception to this single shot rule is rapid fire guns. If you have a rapid fire gun then you can use one uncut second from the first impact to the last. Heck, I'll even say that you can use multiple guns as long as they are fired in the one uncut second.

Rules:

o One shot or one uncut second.
o One entry per user
o No explosives in the ammo or the target
o No solid propellants in the gun (no firearms)
o Must submit your own video, nothing that somebody else has done
o Shots you have recorded in the past can be entered in this competition

Submission Guidelines:
o Feel free to do slow motion, but if using the one second rule also provide real time
o Pictures of the gun and aftermath photos can also be included in the video
o Please make sure that the entry video only contains one shot or one second of shooting (it can contain that one shot multiple times). DO NOT submit a series of shots and try to specify which shot you want to enter.
o Format can be anything that most people can view: Youtube, Google Video, animated GIF, or Flash are a few things I would suggest.
o Deadline is the end of the day January 31 central time.
o Entries should be posted in this thread.

Judging:
o If there is a limited number of entries I will start a poll to determine the winner
o If there are a lot of entries then I will get at least three members who I feel can make an unbiased decision(respected members not entered in the contest) to narrow the results down to the top 6 for a poll

Prizes:
Currently there is only one prize, if you would like to donate a prize PM me and we may be able to get a decent prize pool. Preferably it would be something that you can send electronically so we won't have to worry about country differences.

o Copy of Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One. Code will be sent via email so the winner can download it from Steam, Valve's game distribution program.

o $10* via PayPal. Donors: mtronic-$5, clide-$5
*This is what will be sent by the donors (USD), PayPal fees will be payed by the recipient, so actual received money will be less.
To minimize PayPal fees money will be sent directly from the donor to the recipient. I am not responsible if any donors change their mind and do not pay, but I think most people here are trustworthy.

Prizes will be distributed based on the order placed in the competition, only one option can be chosen. The money option can be chosen for yourself, passed down to the next person, donated to SpudFiles, or it can be divided for a combination of those. Non-cash options can be chosen or passed down. If prizes are still left after all 6 finalists have been given a shot then the donors are free to do what they will with the unclaimed prize.

Disclaimer:
The rules are probably not without their holes, but do not try to work your way through a loophole to get around them. If there is a general consensus that you are violating the spirit of the rules then you will not be allowed to enter. Ask if you are not sure about a certain rule.

ok are you thinking more damage shots or a 100 yard sniper shot. would that create 2 catagories (sp)?
At my lemonade stand I used to give the first glass away free and charge five dollars for the second glass. The refill contained the antidote

It's up to you, just your favourite shot. Doesn't matter what it's of, or how close the target it or how much damage you cause. Just enter your favourite shot that you think would have a chance at winning.

Ah, and thanks to MrC for the idea to start a little competition to give away the game.
And apologies to c19o who had PMed me about my previous signature offer.

As MrC said, just enter the most impressive shot you have. Doesn't matter what kind it is as long as people will think it is cool enough to vote for.

Yes, entries will go in this thread.

Hmm... Best shot you say? I'm going to have to dig out the SCTBDC, the old door, and that 3 pound Pykrete slug...

I expect to see some impressive videos from Schmanman (SWAT), Killjoy (FEAR), and Haymaker. We should email them about this comp, I'm sure they'll come up with something impressive.

I might enter, but I will not be accepting the prize if I win (probably won't; don't have any big guns atm).

The reason for this is I can't download anything that size. HL2 alone would probably take me over a week to download.

I might enter, but I think I'll not take the game if I win. I don't really like to play computer games, unless it's America's Army every now and then.

Ya'll don't even know which guns it's going to be, because I haven't posted it yet. Nah nah nah nah boo boooo....

If Killjoy gets a 4" barrel and union for FEAR, we're going to need a consolation prize, because that thing will have more muzzle energy than a small cannon. With a 39' x 4" barrel (longest EVBEC allows in this case), it is showing a mind boggling ~70 000 joules of muzzle energy with a 2 pound projectile at almost 400 m/s (well over Mach 1).
