@MrCrowley: The fitting on the bottom left looks like the flare - NPT adapter that used to be on my nitrogen filling setup. It started leaking, so I took the adapter out the reg with a big wrench and a lot of willpower (looked like it was held in with an adhesive on the threads, probably to prevent its removal ).

At the very low pressures that you're using, a good taping job should prevent most leaks in a BSP - NPT connection. When you start getting into multiple hundreds of psi, things need to be done right.

NPT and BSP threads maybe, but pipe sizes are not so compatible. HEAL doesn't use threads to attach the barrels, the pipe base is held into a modified solder pipe fitting, and the tight tolerances between the pipe size and fitting size are required to create good seal. Even a small difference in the size will completely destroy the join.

To use a US pipe size, I'd need to use a series of different fittings, and create an entirely new breech loader.

A 20mm male copper adapter from America, works perfectly with 20mm copper in NZ.

Like I said, some I.D's are different between the two, but so far all the O.D's are the same.

Yes you may run into problems with a breech loader, just make another one, Different types of copper all have slightly different diameters, so if you're a bit off, just try different types like DWV, K, L or M.

I think it's those anyway.

If you got a rifled barrel from the UK, you'd still have to change it up and make a new breech loader. You siad you had to mod a fitting to make it fit, maybe with the American pipe you wont need to.

:laughing3: You're serious aren't you? Good lord. Is your sarcasm detector severely damaged? Did you even see the sentence I wrote right underneath the whole unholy mess? Did you see the posts that preceded mine? Are you aware that sometimes people exercise a concept called sarcastic humor or "ribbing" regarding other people's comments? Seriously, please untie the monkey fist in your grammatical shorts. I'd also recommend you send your sarcasm detector back to the manufacturer for recalibration and repair. It should still be covered under warranty.

Sorry about that dude, I never even checked to see first. Sarcasm detectors are all well and good, but they don't do a hell of a lot if they aren't turned on... :sign3:
