Pipe is measured in increments of 1/8".
Standard imperial pipe sizes are:
1/16"
1/8"
1/4"
3/8"
1/2"
3/4"
1"
1-1/4"
1-1/2"
2"
2-1/2"
3"
3-1/2"
4"
5"
6"
8"

Take your pick :P
Also, 1/16", 3-1/2", and 5" aren't exactly common...

OK, so my friend and I built a paintball feild and im making a pneumatic AT-4.... and im trying to make it as close to military real specs.... which calls for an 84mm diameter which is about 3 1/3 inch.... also, were working on building a bunch of step mines :D

Well 80mm/3" diameter pipe is not actually 80mm in diameter. That's it's nominal diameter, it's real I.D is much different.

There are a few designs around spudfiles that look like what you are trying to achieve, so try and replicate them. We have a search function, try and use it because i'm not going to dig the topic up for you. :)

But i'd recommend you start learning more about pneumatics/combustions before starting.
