Loving that APFSDS projectile :P And that "tough" piece of laminate ain't that tough after all hey! You sure that you can't find any "unwanted" holes?

"In my world of spuds today" I shot my digicam with the Hammer Shotgun :D I'll upload the footage (short, like 4 seconds) after work 8)

That was quite impressive sounded like it was very loud

Okay in the world of spuds today I finally got my mini coaxials piston to seal and will finish glueing it up tomorrow and will have it posted this weekend.
I succesfully put a hole in my garage (I wasnt trying to it went through the target and into my garage)with the KAMG fireing a 3ft long peice of 1/2in pvc with the middle plugged and wadded. And the back of are garage is 3in of solid wood if you dont belive me ill go take a few pics.
I scrapped my plans for the monster 230ci high pressure metal launcher and my hybrid i was planning to make this weekend and decided that I will save up for an air compressor instead.
I pumped the PG a little to high(140psi the highest ive ever pressurized pvc) and the piston cracked when I fired it(didnt have a bumper)I will rebuild it with a bumper.

In the world of spuds tonight I planned out my mini simple steel, and make some of my own flechete rounds for my half in barrel. On the mini I hope to have a breech load for the individual finishing nail rounds , and I don't want to feel optimistic but I think I might try a simple half inch piston valve.

In the world of spuds today... I went to school :(

Though I did get to plan one of my projects in my Hard-Tech class, but building can't start for a few more months.

Check out this very short vid, you may want to pause it during the firing to capture the shot :)

I have seen that clip before, he is a lucky soldier! As to the protective sheet, no the camera got shot :D I knew that the lightweight shot would not damage it, at least i hoped  For other shots though you gave me a good idea- it will have to wait till next week though, i love my weekends! :P
BTW that is my favourite frame too

A bit of swarf at that velocity could easily have scratched the lens, if not worse - if I were you I would refrain from directly targeting sensitive electronics in future :P but cool video nonetheless.

I got the iron for my mini today, but need to order a few fittings from Mcmaster to get the thing functional.

In the world of spuds today, I finished my APFSDS round, and test fired it at 1/4" steel plate with 220ci of chamber at ~260 psi. GGDT says that it was going 530 fps, and that the actual slug (not including sabot) had a kinetic energy of ~3 000 ft/lbs.

As you will see from the video, I need some harder steel, because the energy is definitely there (Nova fired a hardened steel dart through 5mm plate with less than 200 ft/lbs of KE).

Here's what the round looked like before firing, with half of the sabot removed to see what's inside:

And here's the video:
