Perhaps I will take a peek anyway. :) Mine's pretty darn small, maybe 2-3 cubic feet. Typical cube shape.

In the world of spuds today:

I finished up the two seal faces for my double gun I’m working on.
Expected test fire date: May the 3rd, year of our Lord 2008.
Expected completion of cannon date: late summer of the year of our Lord 2008.

Also, I rigged up a simple test rig this evening to test the plausibility of gas-operated, low-pressure, air cannon.
Conclusion: Project Valkyrie is go!:D

Ok I shall have a video in about an hour, I need to spice it up :D

In the World of Spuds today:

I'm currently working on building a break action shotgun for my friend. I just figured out the break action, now i'm building it. It's tough because he put me to a 45 dollar budget... so its been interesting scrapping some things for money. I've told him so many times that for a few bucks more it could be way more powerful... but oh well..

ITWOST, Some of you may be aware of my p.u.i. incident yesterday and luckily the guy involved and myself PM'd each other and he is a cool guy luckily because I hated to act like a jackass accidently. Also MrCrowley is probably the coolest younger person I know of.

To sum things up, I have found SF to be great therapy when I want to have a clear head and design and share advice with people.

A friend invited me to go see a band that's playing local and about to get signed big (according to him) so I let myself mess up I guess (big mistake).

Decided to sleep it off last night. And when I woke it was 6:20 am and I was so sick I thought it was 6:20P.M.
So I freaked out a little then finally realized it was morning.

Get this, Some workers came to repaved my driveway when I went back to sleep .So I got up, Looked outside and saw this caution yellow tape all around the front outside!!! I did a Homer Simpson DOOUUP!!!
Like, what the heck did I get into last night then remembered they were repaving the driveway today.

After those three incidents combined I am done with the "bar scene" for a(long) while.

I had a project I was going to post but the hose (for sandblaster sand)
Kept blowing up because it's not designed for much pressure.
Finally got new hose and everything together (instead of just bothering you guys online).

So I was shooting spuds in my backyard which is only about 30ft. wide.
Spuds are the most fun ammo I know of!!! I got so carried away It was so cool and broke some stuff by shooting spuds at them.
I'll be posting this one just before I give it to a relative for his 14th B-day.
Thanks fellas  8)

ITWOST, I took my hybrid prototype out to the boonies to do some shooting, and learned a few things in the process;
1. It's too long, too unwieldy, and too slow to reload
2. The poor quality made in China malleable iron union leaks just enough that I can't use air mixes with it, only oxygen.
3. Potatos get blasted into small chunks when you try firing them out of a big hybrid
4. The warped barrel allows barely enough accuracy to hit the side of a barn with grapeshot from ten feet away.
5. DWV ABS isn't completely compatible with 4x oxy/propane mixes.

hmm interesting DYI, i have a problem with my union too, air seems to escape passed the threads... damn chinese low quality products, i'll have to get a nice steel one or something off mcmaster....

although maybe if i tighten it enough..

have you tried rubber washers? or orings? mine seals fine.

I'm using rubber gaskets. The leak when completely tightened isn't severe, but it can be detected with the high accuracy gauge.

And that failure in the pictures in my last post was pretty spectacular. It looked a lot like the muzzle flash, except coming out of the side of the barrel.

so what did we learn today kids? "do not use ABS barrels at a hybrid launcher" nice work said the teacher and gave them a bottle of beer.

although it is to bad there is no vids here.. and it was really good to proof that ABS just rips open - even on a hybrid.

DYI: That was bound to happen, im not one bit surprised.

I finally got my dads permmision to make a hybrid :)
I had been looking forward to this for months so i went down to mclendons(best hardware store on earth) and spent about $60 on pipe, fittings, gauges, propane, and an air reg that doesnt work :(
the air reg cost me a big $12 and I was running propane through it so i cant return it. Thats a full weeks worth of money gone

But my hybrid is still turning out good and should be complete by the weekend.

nice, that sucks about the regulator though...

ITWOST
I'm waiting to order my stungun..ahem..high voltage circuit from bcarms for my hybrid. also i'm going to replace the union on my hybrid with cam locks- i'm sick of the union leaking. once i get that working, its on to my ATAWL, a portable combustion gun that fits in a backpack- it stands for anytime anywhere launcher. after that is done and somewhat at the same time its on to a super high powered bbgun, similar to mitchza89's... only a bit different, i.e. higher pressure, smaller chamber... more rifle like than boomstick like.

i have too many projects i want to do..

ITWOST:
I built a big piston that rides in 4" pipe. Instead of using two endcaps, like I did before for my first piston, I made this one out of resin and hardener. It is shorter and heavier than the first one. However, it also fits much better in the tube and is stronger as well. I heard someone say that the weight of the piston does not really matter considering the forces that are put on it, and I think it would make sense. Can't wait to build the cannon that will fit around this piston 8) .

I´m just finishing my HP Golf ball cannon 8)

------
And starting to make steam cannon that will at least shoot: 70gram projectile @ 1500ft/s, and energy of 5490ft*lb
