I am going to try to get the KAMG supersonic with a 60ft barrel 550psi and a light projectile.

You must sort out your priorities Rag. :D

How's the old Combustion BB Gun going?

It's still in the design stages. It's a bloody complex project - it took me months to even hit on the spool valve concept, and although I've now sorted the basic design, it's requires fine tuning to get the best out of it, so I've yet to sort the exact dimensioning.
You see, each part needs to be as light as possible to get the most ROF out it, yet strong enough to take the forces it will subjected to.

But you're quite right. With the gauss/plasma hybrid, the full automatic coil-pistol, self-contained cartridge launcher, combustion GB cannon, quad piston valved monster, all the mods I want done to HEAL and the hybrid BBMG - I've got far too many ideas on my drawing board.

I'm going to draw up a proper set of blueprints for each, assess costs, then find some well paid work and acquire some funds to allow me to reduce that list - probably starting with the coil pistol.

Now, where can I find a job that will pay me to take things apart, or blow junk to bits?

Hi,

I have done supersonic shots with an oxygen-enriched combustion gun.

See here.

Supersonic --> LOUD!!!

was thinking about a supersonic pnuematic, it was a dual piston valve piloted with sprinklers and it also had a massive chamber, and a very long barrel, im not sureif it would accually do it, but theres always a chance Very Happy
Kind of like what I'm building....hmmm

I gave it a go with the burst disk this morning, this was the best I could do:

Thats better then most of us have done :)

Hi,

I wonder if sonic is feasible at all with cold gas??? Any examples? All I remember is a picture of Joe from SpudTech with what he claims is a sonic gun. It looks like a dual Supah-Valve pneumatic.

Again, yes.

Still very close - that was at ~400 psi I guess?

Hmm, if that was with a burst disc... it could prove hard to achieve that with a piston valve, even with a bit more pressure and my low friction barrel.
Is it still worth a try though?

No idea, pressure gauge has long since given up the ghost, but around that area.
Is it still worth a try though?
Why not, the Condor exceeds mach 1 with a hammer valve - though admittedly with 3,000 psi

Well, not much harm in trying - I'm not going to do it routinely, I could do without the attention that regular sonic cracks will bring, but I imagine a few Mach 1 paintballs wouldn't do too much harm.

i just tryed my pneumatic with light ammo. i used aluminium foil packed to fit the barrel and got up to 1046fps

the same ammo with 1" barrel was at 918fps :)

think the hybrid would have got far up with that ammo but it has some bugs on the regulator now and i will scrap it for my big hybrid. so i will not fix it

An add on to the original topic. Do you think it's possible to achieve supersonic with just Sch 40 PVC as the gun material?

yes i do
just use helium and it would be easy
