Blowgun Questions

Hi,

I've built a pneumatic ball-valve cannon. I've never built a cannon with a sprinkler valve or blowgun, and I have a couple of questions. How would I directly attach a blowgun to a sprinkler valve as seen on the cannon Zooka? http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=129
Is this a special type of blowgun? If so, what is it called?
I would be using an Orbit Watermaster sprinkler valve as seen on the cannon Zooka.

Thanks in advace for your help!

Also, in case you're wondering, I would be building a tennis ball cannon.

i think it's just pvc pipe, not any sort of blow gun, attach by solvent welding

That's just a normal blowgun, directly attached to a 1/4" close nipple which is tapped into the "lid" of a normal sprinkler valve.

I've seen the tutorial before, and that's definetely a great video (although I don't have any sound... I don't quite know why) but they both involve hoses and hose clamps, and I'm looking into how to directly attach a blowgun to a sprinkler valve. I've seen it done on many cannons so I know it's possible, I just don't know how to do it.

Leadbath, I think you're onto something. Could you elaborate?

Lid - nipple - blowgun.

The nipple is tapped into the cap, the blowgun is screwed onto the nipple. A nipple is simply a peice of pipe that's threaded on both ends, and you'll be able to get it at any hardware store. (should cost you .8-.4$)

Thanks a lot, that's a big help.

I changed my mind about valves. I'm going to use this sprinkler valve (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=p ... 147-CP-100) and this blowgun (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=p ... lpage=none). This valve isn't the one pictured in the tutorial, and so I need to know if I should do anything differently with this valve.

Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks!
