Sthorne wanted me to post about the laser sights I installed on my cannon..
He wanted to know about...

what powered it.. = 4 watch batterys
what turns it on.. = a pressure pad pictured below
where did i get it = off a 3 dollar gun i got at a flea market (new) "airsoft"
how did i mount it.. = i took a 2 inch rail system part off my airsoft rifle.. and glued it to the top of my cannon.. making sure it lined up with the barrel.. so the laser would be as close to accurate as possible..

here is a pic..

Image
me turning the laser on.. with my finger.. you normally would do this when targeting with your ring finger.. and use your index finger for the trigitron safety and your thumb for the fire button.

Image
pressure pad mounted with double sided velcrow tape

Image
close up of the laser.. front unscrews to hold batterys

Image
this pic shows it kinda clearly..

hope this helps..

Lasers are only for looking cool. Spudguns are extremely inaccurate.

That statement is completely inaccurate. It all depends on what type of spudgun it is.
*With pneumatics, you can get a more accurate shot because of the fact that you can measure the exact pressure you use every time, thus consistent results.
*And with combustions, you are less likely to get consistent results because even with a propane meter, your fuel measurements are never exactly the same.
*It also depends on the type of ammunition and the size of the barrel.
*If the type of ammunition is a unit that you can buy/that is manufactured to a base size (marbles, golf balls, etc.) you are more likely to get consistent, accurate shots.
*and the smaller the caliber size, the greater your accuracy is likely to get, with consistent ammunition as well.

oh, btw... congrats on the big 8..0..0!

it also.. depends on how close to the target your shooting at.. so yes spudguns are super accurate :D

are you saying i couldnt hit a zombie standing 5 feet away.. sounds pretty accurate to me.. lol and that laser would put me right on target.!!!!

It depends a lot on the ammo your shooting...Rag is hoping to have some darts that will get 3 to 5 MOA from a spud gun...

I can hit an attacker at 100 yards with a spud, if its red and the size of a large barn....

A spud gun wouldn't be much use unless you at least could hit the broad side of a barn....

Nice. Is that a Weaver rail or a standard 3/8"-11mm airgun/0.22 rail?

If it's a weaver or pictanny rail, I'd say mount another and slap on a pistol scope. 8)

Wow, that's a pretty professional laser setup, mine is just an old laser pen I butchered. I wish I could find cheap laser sights here :?

Heh, now just get a laser from an old DVD burner, you can burn stuff with the laser then blow it away with the cannon!

its a rail that came off my crappy airsoft rifle..
the sights came off my crappy 3.00 airsoft gun.. i found a website that sells airsoft guns really cheap with laser sights if you wanna see it.. i will post it... they are clearance guns.. but you can get one for a couple bucks.. and then strip it for parts.. and add it to ur cannon..

also.. the lasers for bbguns at walmart are really cheap.. did you try that?

if a robber is waiting a hundred yards away for you to go to sleep, and you start shooting off a combustion, they probably aren't gonna bother you, no matter how accurate it is...
