Ever wanna see where your round went? well first you would have to find it with this cool thing i thought of... or if you were really gifted in electronics. you could make a gps and put in it so you could track it.. but how cool would be to watch what your potato sees?
yes.. i said that right.. high speed camera projectile.. and its filled with spray foam that you use on filling cracks in houses.. and the lense is a plastic cap.. that you get off those 25 cent machine plastic thingys...
anyways.. do you think this would work?
whats your imput on making it better.??

Would you put over $2000 worth of high speed camera circuit inside a projectile that would be launched from a combustion?
It doesn't have to be high speed, you could use a regular one and not break the bank.

Sounds expensive...It would work except I don't know if they make high speed camera that small and if they did I thing you want the camera in the back of the projectile so you could see the flame front and then as it leaves the muzzle you...
I would up grade the plastic cap to Plexi glass or acrylic since its stronger. But if you can "gut" a junk camera and rearrange the guts to build it into a projectile I can see working...try it...post the video...

Hmm, all slow motion does is double or triple the number of frames in the video sequence. So it wouldn't really bring out more definition.

By "high speed" do you mean 1000 frames per second or 1000 feet per second?
You would probably want to encase the whole thing in epoxy or hot glue to help it deal with the thousands of gees it will go through on launch.
(I looked for high speed cameras on ebay, but I couldn't really find anything at all. Does anyone know what, say a 300 fps one would cost on average?)

Carry out the following check: Is your name Mr B.P. McExxon-Shell?
If the answer is yes, go ahead.
If not, I think you should reconsider, those are very expensive cameras anyway, much better used for filming where they won't come back as very expensive shards.

Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

I agree with maxus - use a normal camera.
also make sure that your projectile is drag stabilized or has fins - you can imagine why
there were several threads about a bullet cam, use search button and read them all I think there are some ideas there that might be interesting or helpful for you.
