Has anyone thought of making some programs for the Texas Instruments Calculators? Specifically the 83-84 ( graphing) calculators.... It would be really good for some of us who sit in boring classes and think of spudgun stuff. The GGDT thing would be fun on the calculator if anyone knew how to do that kinda thing, please....
i agree completely. i could actually use it tomorrow during a 2 hour trig class. ugh

I second this interest. That would be so cool, though I would never manage to learn anything again.

Thirded. But we need a guy who knows how to do it...

Is there anyone who even knows what language they need? Or must it be precompiled, and then in what format must it be?

The TIs use Basic. And it is pretty basic. I could program it if you guys told me what you wanted. I don't feel like researching all the equations so if you gave them to me I would happily program it.
It's really easy to learn especially if you're just using equations (no loops/flow stuff). It's great for killing time in class too.
Edit: You can make compiled programs on the computer but I haven't done that yet. For a program like this though, speed isn't important.

I think it would be nice to make a program for a calculator that allows you to punch in average distance of your gun for a 5 Degree angle, 15 Degree Angle and so forth so then when you see a target you can punch in 100 Feet away and then in calculates the angle which you have to fire... something very quick..
Screen comes up... you type 100 press enter it says 12 Degrees.. Also the inverse of this application would be useful too.. Type in 12 and press enter it says 100 Feet... Could be really cool to have a calculator embeded into an RPG for airsoft or other projects...
I think this kinda program im talking about would work with a stat plot.. punch in all the distances for all the angles. (x for distance, Y1 for angle, Y2 for pressure etc... then you would have a graph or a program with an easy imput interface to punch in your numbers...

if you could figure out what GGDT's formulas are it would be pretty easy i bet. I'm just not good at programing. just learning C++ and Java now.

I know TI Basic pretty darn well. I'd be interested in doing something spudding related!

Bah, programming TI calcs is cake. It's like BASIC but even easier, it's more a scripting language than anything.
If anyone has the GGDT-style formulas, I'd be happy to write an app around em for ya

The programming for a TI is very simple...man I love this idea...
But why stop there...you could program a C:B, velocity, muzzle energy...basically a mini GGDT on your graphing calculator...complete with graphs..

This is an AWESOME idea!
I fill most of the time at school with drawing diagrams of valves or calculating C:B ratios, but a GGDT would be the most awesome thing ever.

haha i'm liking this, i've done some basic programming on it to write volume programs and similar, but I wouldn't be sure how to do this, but I'd be willing to give it a shot
