Considering that a lab somewhat related to D_Hall's operation built a large, high mix hybrid sometime in the 70s, it doesn't really suprise me. Most of the technology that is "new" to us has already been thought of and built more than a century ago. The hybrid really is our most recent tech., and even it's been around in some form for at least 30 years.

600 yards is a long shot. I guess it's not just us that exaggerate ranges. :)

By the way, Nicholas Benigni is the owner of spudgunextreme.com

For most spudguns, unless they were firing a tracer-type round, a 600 yard shot would mean a muzzle velocity too high to actually see the projectile in flight. Larger projectiles like my dart rounds could definitely be seen at that speed, but even with the SCTBDC at full power, 600 yards is a bit of a stretch, and the round would still be out of sight long before it landed.

He was talking about a golfball :)
(in case you didn't see the second page... I'm not sure the SCTBDC could even put one that far.)

At least the articals author got info across the board more evenly then most. Better yet, told the story of the cop getting in trouble instead of a teenager, and a teenager being responsable for a change. "Glenville police allege that one of their officers used one to shoot out a streetlight. He is charged with criminal mischief."

I broke the sound barrier doing that

Ok I exaggerated a bit...

The SCTBDC hits its full potential with a golfball at around 300 psi, after which trans-sonic effects prevent it from accelerating any faster. Although GGDT is inaccurate at high velocity, it quotes a range of over 1000 yards with a golfball.

Yeah we all remember Nick, I still talk to him. Thought me and him had agreed on his exaggerated claims, but I see he is still up to mischief.

I'm pretty sure his 'advanced' cannon they are talking about, is a 4" chamber, 1" sprinkler valved pneumatic, with one short barrel.

He hosts three videos of mine on his website, I didn't ask him too, he asked me and I said it was fine. :)

Just got an email back from Nick(SGE), he said he mentioned Spudfiles and Spudtech but they didn't include it.

I can see why, they don't exactly want people building mass amounts of these things.

I had to use a dam proxy site to see that page. Wonder why it's being blocked :?

Pleasant change to news of the wrong things being fired at the wrong targets.

Imagine that over 50% of all boys and men aging from like 14 to very old were building spudguns :P
What a wonderful world would that be! :D
