AA batteries with some tape for the 3/4" and for the 1", Jawbreakers work good.

Or you could just use old reliable.....Potato

My favorite ammo will probably always be ice. Cut several short sections of barrel tubing and silicone or caulk down to an old cookie sheet. Fill barrel sections with water, freeze. Take out the ice slugs and you are ready to go. For an even harder projectile, fill the barrel sections with sawdust and then water.
Ice inflicts good damage, is renewable, leaves no traces (after melting and evaporation), doesn't litter, seals extremely well, and slightly melted ice doesn't have a whole lot of drag/friction slowing it down in the barrel.

or even on ebay...Here's a good deal

Next time, you could go straight to the Ammo Ideas thread instead of making a new one.

Bigsauce: I agree, CO2 catridges :)

Marbles. And by the way, this is in the wrong forum. But who cares. After all, he is more experienced than me. =|

All around, ice or Pykrete is probably the best ammo.

For special purpose shots, there are more interesting things I shoot, but most of them are geared towards 2" or larger barrels, and aren't exactly practical in 3/4" PVC.

Drag stabilised steel bar darts are easy and quick to make however, with simply some 1/2" bar and a plastic tube attached to the back, wrapped in tape to fit the bore more accurately.

Glue Sticks. Best fit ever! (Better than a golfball in SDR-21!)

This may sound random but it's really not... I've been using them for a while now.

Dum-dum lollipops, believe it or not, work perfectly. Sometimes they are too big and sometimes they are too small (Q.C. isn't that critical with candy), but if they're too big you suck on em' a bit and then roll in flour, and if they're too small you suck on em and then stick on paper wadding.

The stick stabilizes the projectile in flight, although there's not that much penetration since the candy part shatters upon impact. We were still able to get them through roofing tin with a horrible spray n' pray combustion back in the 10th grade.

5/8" rubber washers are a super nice fit, and make possible some very nice custom rounds.
