I'll be moving soon. Got to trim down my belongings to whatever fits into my apartment/trailer/tent in Baton Rouge (since dorm rooms are completely taken up with 100 or so people in front of me in line ((VERY large freshman class this year))), and whatever can be stored in the house my parents plan to move into after I'm gone.

Well, anyway, over the past few years spudgunning, I have acquired quite a few things that must go. I really... REALLY... don't want to go through the trouble of selling the stuff, and I wouldn't make that much money anyways.

Thus, it pains me to do so, but today I am making a trip to the local dump off Hwy. 59 to get rid of a lot of stuff. I have soooo much scrap pipe under my house, including a 9' length of 6" SCH-40. I also have a very large number of cannons in my closet that cannot stay. I'll try and salvage most of the useful parts (check valves, quick-exhausts, quick-disconnects, expensive galvanized or brass fittings), but the rest just has to go.

Anyways, it's not all bad news. I have accumulated a rather massive set of tools over the past two or three years, and they obviously can't be thrown away. Since I am usually organized, as well, they all fit into an area of only a few square feet. I'm taking most of the hand-tools with me wherever I go (it would be stupid not to), and all the power tools will most probably be stored.

But... I will try my best to continue to browse these forums and offer whatever helpful advice I might be able to give, even though I can't build much. And who knows? Between study times and classes, I'll probably have enough time in my pop-up camper parked in an alley somewhere to build some small things. We'll definitely see: soon.

Before you throw away some of your cannons, you might want to check and see if anyone here wants them... . But seriously, If you wanted to get rid of them i would gladly take them. I would pay for shipping too.

Well Mark, good luck on your next adventure in life. I have a feeling you'll actively pick up spudding again in the future when the time is right.

I remember taking a couple of pvc guns to the dump when I moved back in 2003. I really didn't care much at the time because I didn't have that much invested in them and had other things on my mind.

It's good you're holding on to your tools. That's usually an investment that pays off your whole life.

spudkilla, I think this site is more all about building cannons, not all about buying them.

starman, thanks. I wouldn't dare toss my tools.

No, I just checked out some of your cannons that you had made and posted here. I just could have used some of the parts.

I'm moving out to college by the end of August as well, and I am just going to take my little simple ABS combustion - it is a camping necessity!

Pop-up camper, that would be an awesome hang out spot. Seeing as once we all move out we won't be able to go hang out in friends shops and stuff. (we won't live at home anymore)

Hope the best man. I know personally I'm getting thrown both ways - it is going to be fun moving out, but the days of leeching off your parents are done! I have to buy cinnamon toast crunch AND milk? WTF?! lol

My feelings exactly :D I'm going to Oregon State this fall, and my dorm doesn't have room for any tools/parts/etc. Of course, that won't stop me... I'm a Mechanical Engineering major... Maybe I'll design a collapsible spudgun

Well, I just finished getting it all thrown out. I don't think any of the PVC guns are in any good shape anymore... it's a 7' drop out of my window.

The popup camper isn't a real viable option, but it might come to be with the hundreds of other people looking for apartments and such near campus.

Wow mark I'm sorry to here that you had to get rid of all that stuff, must've been hard. Congrats on going to college though, and good luck.

I'm have the same problem because I'm going to Stanford in the fall and my parents want to clean out the garage and use it for their stuff once I'm out of the house (means my stuff is one step closer to the dump). But yesterday I just found out I might be able to buy a used shipping container cheap (10'x25') so I think I got lucky.

I just noticed it seems like quite a few people are going to college this year.

Holy crap you're young

A sad day indeed it is. I know i'll have a similar fate near the end of next year, it's either living at University or the Army for me as my parents are going overseas most likely.
