No, it wasn't a pipe, it was a hammer that was giving off noxious fumes.

... What? That's a smoking implement!

Right, I'll get me coat then.

*Grumble*

Wouldn't know...

Which bugger's moved the coat stand?!

Don't take it out on the cops guys, they're just doing their jobs. Somethings are illegal in other countries and some things are legal. It's just the way it is. Who ever it is should've (or did) know the law so it's their fault for getting caught.

Yes I will admit that substance abuse with a fire arm is not a good thing. I just get pissed off with the cops some times coz they waste alot of there time on small stuff like this and theres muderers and pedifiles out there that time could be better spent chasing up.
Ive never had a problem with cops and my spud guns. But then again i am a licenced firearm owner and known to the local cops.
they offtern get a chuckel out of seeing it.

In canada you need a pal if your gun fires over 500fps that's the volocity that even pneumatics are concidered firearms fat chance they'll get me though. Can't do much anyways are they going to ask me what volocity it fires at? Uh yeah officer it shoots at 495 that's legal right? Either he was smoking pot and he did it intentionally or he had a missfire or he was fireing it for the first time and didn't know how loud it would be.

ouch, it does sound like watto :?

boo on the neighbours for ratting on him, on the other hand drawing attention to yourself isn't a wise thing to do in a country where spudguns are specifically illegal.
I wonder if it would had be more persecuted by the law if his gun was pneumatic... they had the same power but make a pretty strange sound
compared to the lound BANG of the combustion
I'm guessing it was pneumatic, they have the potential to be much, much louder than combustions, especially with fast valves, high pressures and large chambers.

As to the weed, well, the law's the law.

It is, but it's long been a traditional English expression for when one tells a bad joke that is met with disapproval from your audience.

Damn Neighbours.
Its just a loud noise and they have to go all over their heads about it and tell the police.

It could have been that the "falling tree branch" was a factor too...

They were really only called in because the neighbours saw him smoking a pipe. The drug and firearm offences are just there to bulk out the charge sheet, probably drop them in no time.

Cops, the spudder's greatest enemy.
Neighbours with a working phone line, the spudder's 2nd greatest enemy.

I think the last thing a person wants while participating with the reefer is something that makes a loud bang with sometimes unexpected results. That's the last thing I'd want while in "the mindset". Lets put it like this. He may have shot the tree while high. This scared the hell out of him so bad that he was afraid the gun would explode spontaneously (high mind, remember), so he padded it with his dirty laundry in case it did explode so no chunks of pvc would go anywhere.

The spudgun was shot at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The story looks legit to me.

No, the spudder's greatest enemy is the government who makes his pastime illegal, followed by the spudder himself. In these cases, the police tend to take note only after something stupid has been done, and the spudder is normally the one responsible for doing something stupid. The police are not yet actively tracking and attacking spudders en masse simply for the sheer fun of it.

If he had been doing his best to keep things quiet (firing out in the middle of nowhere, telling no one, buying all parts with cash, etc...) and he had been tracked down and ambushed by the police, I would probably feel differently.

We can't expect the cops to sympathize with us, even if we aren't doing something so foolish as operating a cannon while high. Much as I disagree with highly restrictive firearms laws and the illegality of cannabis possession, I can't really feel sorry for this guy - he brought it on himself.
