New Breechloading Idea (I think.)

Lately I've been drawing and thinking up some plans for a new spud gun, and I think I've come up with a new breech design (if you read this and I mention yours, that just means its a good one).

Design:
This one is for a golf ball/tennis ball launcher, basically all you do is build a launcher and cut a hole in the barrel so that a ball would be able to fall into the barrel. Then find pipe that fits over the barrel of it and make a sheath with a "t" joint so that when you pull it back it would show the hole in the barrel.

P.S. This isn't a help me, its a help you...

I like it, perfect for say a pump action, shotgun not so much because you couldnt really load more than one at a time.

Here is my take on the design... It's good, but not for any real purpose, its a sound idea, but could be easily modified for more specific use, I would want to maybe put a 90 degree bend in it, then a horizontal magasine (spring loaded of course) then add a grip to that, and put some form of guide rod into the pipe so it only travels back and forth, then place a spring with the guide assembly to make it slide back after cocking.

There you go, perfect shotgun pump...

It's a good idea! It's not really illustrated well, but I understand what you're saying. Made with a couple additions so that the ammunition rests hermetically, and you've got yourself one helluva gun!

Sputnik: I like what your saying, and I might just try it.
SPOOK: I know its not really the best work, but thats just because I made in 60 seconds.

Well, This has inspired me to make a model, it's not really like what you said, but i figured I should post it anyways, it'a a pump action gun,

Its made in PHUN, look it up and download it, its a good way to make simple mechanism models...

Well, you can consider it a good design then as I've seen something very similar done before.

Difference: Rather than use a T and load through the hole in the T, the other piece of pipe was JUST a piece of pipe and it simply slid far enough forward to expose the hole in the barrel.

BC Arms sells a golf ball breech very similar. It should be on the store site somewhere.

Also, it is a really good design. I would recommend putting o-rings before and after your breech hole to help seal and get the maximum out of it.

Theres a nicer pic for you.

Green = Spring
Black = Barrel
Blue = Sliding pipe + tee/mag.
Red = Breech

Good design :wink:
