Well guys,

I'm working on a design for a custom "grip", wich will replace the common blowgun, and turn any pneumatic into a semi auto.

It will basically release a small burst of air a time, up to 900 psi, without emptying the entire chambervolume.

It will work as a mainvalve for small caliber launchers, or will pilot a modded QEV, pistonvalve, or sprinkler valve.
Through any of the above, another bigger piston valve could be triggered.
THe possibilities are endless.

No more upside down blowguns!
This thing has the inport on the front, and the exhaust out the top ( standard, sides or bottom are options) (, seen when holding like a gun.)

In case of it being used as a pilotvalve, the out-port, when fitted with a ballvalve, functions as a safety.

Both in and out will be threaded 1/4"

When used on a strafer, it will give you burstfire, in stead of full auto.

Price will be around 50 euro for European customers, I'll contact BC Arms for the American dealership, once it's all ready to go.

Remember, this will be a "standard" piece, ready to be mounted, not found anywhere else.
Price may go down if demand goes up...I'll have to see.

Optionally fitted with a custom wood grip.

Why would I share this with you now?

I'd like to know if this thing will sell..Before I put in a lot of effort.
It's not worth making just one or two.

Anybody interested, please let me know.
If you see any objections, please specify.

Well, Id rather you told us how it's made  but that won't make you any money will it? oh well...

I speak only for myself here, but I think I would rather try to build that myself rather than drop 50 euro on it, I don't know, you should be able to find buyers for it somewhere, if you know where to look.

I think as a whole just the spudgunning community isn't really a large enough demographic to make any real long term money, but hey, what do I know? go for it!

What price would be reasonable, if I deliver what I promised?

"Mass" ( say 40) production would cut down both cost and labour you know.

The goal is not to make any real money..

so what would it be... a kind of spool vavle in a grip or a hammer valve?? sounds interesting.. but 50 euro sounds a little too much... you know you'd first have to build a powerful gun with it and show it here ?? - other wise no one would buy it

That would be step 2.
Just want to know if it's worthwile developing into something people will buy.

And no, no spoolvalve.
No batteries or cocking a hammer required.
Just triggerpull.

I'd buy one if it did exactly what it said on the tin.

But only on that condition.

Well, If you already have an idea, then I imagine you would develop it for yourself first  then just post a vid for people here, I think unless you want to start from scratch based of of an imposed need, and one that you don't have yourself, then no it is not worth it, you can't tell people what they want, I say just build one, then videos, that will be your greatest advertisement, and way to tell.

EDIT: I would like to make a guess as to how it's made, the handle itself is a small reservoir, and when the trigger is hooked up to both the input and output, when in neutral, the input is open and the output is closed, then when its pushed, first the input closes then the output opens...

Am I getting warm here :?: 8)

well as I said first you'd have to show that it's worth 50 euro... remember that you are only selling one part - no one is going to buy it unless it is something really special...

I suppose I could manufacture my semiauto for 50 euro total... but that's a complete gun

Sounds like he may be hand-building them one by one, at least for now, as orders come in. That's very labor intensive. I can easily see him charging 50 euro for the time, trouble and profit he deserves to make for a specialty item like this.

Show us your wares BTB....we are prepared to be impressed.

turn any pneumatic into a semi auto.
I'd like to see it manage to turn HEAL into a repeater... but that technicality is because HEAL's piston valve is designed to be bounceless.
Partly for performance - partly so it doesn't damage itself. Material limitations and pressures mean the piston sealing faces could be damaged by such a thing.
Obviously, it can be reseated by a normal fill, but if there's any pressure in the chamber it's designed so it can only return slowly and it can't "bounce".

However, the technicality that it won't turn "any" pneumatic into a semi is pretty irrelevant - I am still interested to see it in action. Obviously, no-one's about to pay unless they know it's going to work.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

It shouldn't it be too hard for you to conjure up a prototype and if it works as advertised, a couple of action videos and it will practically sell itself ;)

Yeah if you get a video on YouTube popular enough you can sell anything.

Hate to think what was in the video

BtB,

Do you know how well these things perform compared to a blowgun? Like chrony readings or anything?
