I'm making a new cannon today and ill be using 3" pressure rated PVC for the chamber that will be about 3 feet long and a 2" 4 foot long barrel. I can't find a spot on my fittings that says they're pressure rated so I assume they aren't. Is there any chance this will explode if im only using right gaurd and maybe other aerosol sprays as fuel? I'm also using reduced tees for 2 handles but im blocking out the bottom part with a plastic cap and some sheet metal.

Could you get us some pictures of the fittings? Some fittings are called NSF-61, which while tecnicaly not pressure rated, typicaly correlates.

Yeah I don't see that on the fittings. I hope it works because I already made it. Shouldn't it be fine because im just using right gaurd? Any way heres some pics....

On the ends that you stick the pipe in raised letters it will say whether they are pressure rated or not. If it says nsf-pw then they are. And it doesn't matter for a combustion even if you wanted to use propane.

ok well its not pressure rated but i guess that won't matter because im not looking to hook up propane or pnuematic so i hope it won't explode. Ill submit it soon once i wire the igniter and maybe paint it. It looks like a rocket launcher its pretty cool.

I don't like the saftey margins of working with DWV fittings/pipe, but whatever...

For future reference, those <i>are</i> DWV. It's rather easy to tell - a quick glance at the socket deapth reveals the truth.

Yes, pressure rated pipe will be marked "DWV".
Why? Because, if you wanted to, you could use pressure rated pipe for drainage.
