i know that i have a plinkler that uses 1 1/2 pvc (rated to 330) for a chamber and i want to upgrade it with a qev and use 250psi
I would never take any sch. 40 pvc pipe to 250 psi. Even if it is half inch which is rated to 600psi. It isn't the fact that it can't handle the pressure. 99% of the time it probobaly will, but the one percent might be enough to seriously injur or kill you. If you use metal pipe you won't have any worries.
You could say that for anything. 99% of the time you aren't going to crash your car, but that 1% of the time it might kill you. Its not fun to live your life like that.
If it's rated to 600psi, by all means take it that high, but take care not to drop it or use it if it's damaged.

That was partially my fault too. I saw that the topic had a new post so I skipped to the second page without looing at the original topic and poster.

No, it would get you screamed at. No one minds brain storming, as long as it's in it's own thread.

Get MY points! :P

How about a brain stroming section then? I am serious, people just post random ideas and diagrams, what ever comes to mind in that section and then its like a free run, post anything that comes to mind, brain strom like crazy. No threads there can be locked for thread hjacking, but of coarse all other rules apply.
A bit similar to the water cooler section of roguesci, but dedicated to brain stroming. I am sure many here would support this idea.

That's what the discussion sections are for. Yes, I know what your saying, basically a random anything thread pertaining to the building of cannons.

That being said, John, your post on this matter is yet another example of thread hijacking because it has nothing to do with the/this thread I created out of streetskater12345 off topic post from This thread that he hijacked.

We (the mods) are going to have to start cracking down on this (thread jacking), it's getting old fast, every one here should know it's against forum rules!

This topic was hijacked for two pages, not a single post (after the first one) was on-topic:
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtop ... tml#239722

They've all been deleted now of course.

Well what you are doing is hair splitting, as theoretically your posts, though perfectly fine and normal and well placed are also off topic, you cannot say that I am making an off topic post when replying to one of your posts, I would pm a mo with this but this is a matter that concerns every one so it should be openly discussed. How about this: you make a thread asking for suggestions for the forum, then I, along with the rest of the community can post there where my posts would be on topic and helpful. I am not recommending this to show hat you are doing something wrong, on the contrary, I want to help you, as if you know know what people want, then it would greatly help you moderate this, if a thread of this kind exists, its obviously has been forgoten and therefore a new one should be made. We are getting a large amount of participating members, maybe they too have sugestions to improve this forum, it will not be huge things but maybe a few tweaks here and there(search engine for example) would help a lot.

If a topic with a single idea in mind can go off-topic, then a 'brainstorm' section will also go off-topic (non-spudgun related discussion) in a matter of posts. Not to mention people would post stupid ideas to get a higher post count and I don't think any ideas will come from it that can't be posted as a topic in the Discussion section.

Have an idea? Post a topic about it.

How about you get no post count posts in there and no spud bucks either, just real brain stroming. Sometimes brain stroming gets really good results, and we can say that it has to stay spudgun or some how related for example:

Building a welding torch is ok
Building a compressor is ok

Building an engine is not ok
Building a bird house is not ok(in that section)
