I noticed if you buy these off ebay you'll save a lot of money, but is there a reason for that? I've used ebay before and had good results. Has anyone bought a regulator off ebay before?Was it a good purchase or would you advise against it?

Also a 20oz Co2 tank( for paintball usually) I'm curious as to how many shots at 100-125 PSI I'd get out of one in a 2'x 3" chamber. Here are some examples of the regulators I'm seeing.

What I have learned from buying of ebay is that if something seems way cheaper than it should be then there is a reason for that. The second regulator has a pop off valve at 55-65psi, so it wouldn't be useful at all. As for the others I am not sure if they would work or not.

It is possible to "get a deal", on evilbay, but you need to judge carefully whether or not the item is what you need.

With regs, you're looking for material compatibility and the max outlet pressure, which is not necessarily the same as the range of the gauge on the outlet.

If it does not specify, and you can't find out,... don't bid. It's just that simple.

The first two regs, are low output, non adjustable types.

The third looks to be adjustable, but the outlet range is not specified.

The tank you list, comes either regular or with a siphon tube, no regulator is being offered.

Where can I buy a regulator locally. Are there any stores like home depot that carry them and if so which are the best for a paintball tank?

Gipetto is right; Ebay is great, but you really have to read the item descriptions before buying. I've gotten tons of good stuff from Ebay, but I did my research first.

On that note, I saw some paintball regs on Ebay for pretty cheap. Problem is they all have some kind of bizaare outlet meant for use with a specific paintball gun...not sure how'd you go about adapting that to NPT.

Home Depot won't carry CO2 regulators. Your local commercial beverage wholesaler will. They are used for beer (usually 50 PSI ) or soft drink fountains (100 PSI for the carbonation and syrup pumps). Welding supply houses tend to carry them for some shielded gas welding, but most is for Argon and Nitrogen.

Sometimes an outfit will buy a case of regulators to service their vending route and when they close shop the extra inventory appears on E bay which I think is part of what the original poster found. New beverage regulators are nice, but a little more bulky than the paint ball ones. They do handle a higher delivery rate which is nice for rapid reload of large cannons of a bulk CO2 bottle

Harbor freight also has such an item, and is likely the lowest price wise.

These are good, portable solutions for low pressure (<=125psi) canons.

Many(if not all) welding gas regs will handle co2 just fine.

I use a nitrogen regulator on my bulk co2 setup. It has a 450psi max outlet pressure. Never had a problem with it. Cost ~$100 shipped.

I stand corrected on Home Depot. On the welding gas regs, never use a low bottle pressure regulator on a high pressure tank

This includes Propane, Acytelene or other under 500 PSI source regulators. The orfice and body isn't made for the pressure and may fail in a dramatic fashion.

I'll readily agree on the propane reg as being useless, and NOT recommended.

Leave it on the barbecue.

Most welding gas regulators have a 3000psi inlet rating.
