Yep, getting close on two weeks
No problem, that gun should be a monster when it's done.
I considered making the engine double acting but decided against it. This should have power a plenty but the final design (final final final) will run on unregged CO2. (not this engine, probably 1 cylinder- it's for my Aussie version of pinewood derby)
Edit:
If I had pneumatic legos (like the only kind of legos I don't have!)I'd build something like
this:

40mm combustion cartridge 6pack launcher for airsoft. i can't find anything that will fit in the tubes perfect enough so i might make the cartridges out of rolled paper. hopefully i'll actually start on it so i can show it off on the forum.

I was going to post a link to that. I made a 4cyl inline lego one about a year ago
They use the style or crank like I mentioned earlier

Getting supplies for 5 kg (!) of thermite.
*To avoid being naughty I'm not going to say what thermite is, what to use it for or how to make it.
Heating up the foundry again tonight, made a new crucible. Any ideas on what to cast?

My launchers are small bore mostly, and I use lead-split moulds for them.
Asides, aluminum is not that great as far as projectiles go.
May experiment with clay for the action for a new pcp..

Here's a sneak peak, maybe the last one as this is a contest entry.
Here's the muzzle
brake (.378 cal/9.6mm)
5 rounded cuts up the top, then flat vents with 2 holes in between (2 per side). Should work nicely.
I shouldn't show much more..
Edit: far out. For my set of contest photos def. borrowing dad's camera..look how focused the tin can is. But if I go that far away you can't see it.. This camera doesn't even have macro.
Here's a photo of a much smaller, more detailed thing with a better camera:

May this be a contest entry JSR? If so it's nice to know I only need to compete with an 850 psi, 100 rps borderline supersonic cannon.

What, there's a contest on?
Actually, I've been thinking. The whole reason I embarked on my
full auto saga is because I was stuck with compressor pressures and wanted to increase the power of individual projectiles. Now that I have 850 psi on tap, well... that's 8 times the power potential, what's the point of a reciprocating mechanism? I've added a
detent to give the pressure time to build up in the chamber, we'll see how it goes

Making the bottle last 3+ seconds..
Bah, who knows..I just hope I get my gun finished before that little box with (XXXX contestant) appears..
