Well I was originally going to make this post in "in the world of spuds today" but it seems to have just become a text chat on what someone's doing for the day.

So the general idea: post whatever your building, just finished building or whatever. For anything that doesn't deserve it's own thread but you'd like to show.

It would be encouraged to have pictures so we're not duplicating in the world of spud today, unless you're commenting of an old post.

Big-bore PCP project

Image

Just got the tubes for my big bore pcp, designed to run on anything from a shop compressor to hpa. Will go carbine or sub machine gun for (concealability).

Image

9.6mm bore anyone? This ones going to need custom ammo..so it probably wont be full auto

I'm looking at soda stream bottles (CO2 bottles for fizzing water), someone said they weren't very good seen as it's cheaper than driving 200k's and buying a CO2 setup

Image

New shock pump..tested it with my mini repeater and went to 400 psi fine (gauge only goes to 300, but testing with another gauge shows it stays accurate to at least 400..then it gets hard to pump)

With a possible contest lurking... Are you kidding? :D

Anyway in my sig gives a clue of a non contest eligible item. It's only on paper at the moment and the tank is gathering dust. The rest is waiting the budget and time. It has nothing new, just bigger.
:P

That's a fair point, though I believe you are still allowed to enter it in the contest if you haven't shown the finished product OR add something new to it. If you don't want to give away ideas, that's fair enough.

I'm in doubt what to build. But I will surely work on one or two of these projects:
-BFWB for 6mm BB's
-BFWB for marbles
-Some other funky fullauto system in combination with a BFWB or else replacing it
-Machined piston valve for marble gun
-Some neat pilot valve built inside a stock
-Rifling 16mm aluminum barrels
Till the day I'm dieing, I'll keep them spuddies flying, 'cause I can!

Building?

I'm building a stungun.

Circuit works, everything is fine. Now assembling it with solder to replace the test leads. Later on going to pot it with an epoxy or polyurethane resin.

About the dimensions of a normal size matchbox.

Batteries not included.

Here's hotwired's stungun:

Very nice work, are you going to make a PCB for it or breadboard?

Could you put me onto some of the components you used? This is quite impressive..

My guess how it works:
camera flash takes the voltage up
capacitor charges
sparkgap fires
pulse transformer.

OK, if it won't disqualify it from the contest, I'm working on a pump action breech loading combustion with metered air/fuel for a fanless mix on delivery charge and purge.

Roughly based on a 2 cycle gasoline engine, I am calling it "The 2 Cycle". It is inspired by the big contest elsewhere where one of the events is the French Fry cutter relay. It is designed for pump action combustion shots into a french fry cutter at a high rate. I don't have a full auto for it yet, but the possibility exists. :D

Don't ask for details until the contest. This will be my first combustion

***Edit***
Added link to the spudfest with the french fry relay

French Fry Relay: shoot as many spuds down range into a 12"x12" stainless fry cutter in 3 mins. (Plexi duct behind target leads to bucket) ,
After your times up with the spudgun, your teamate runs down field to retrieve a 5gal. bucket with cut fries and water, making sure not to spill any. Now that the shooter has gotten aquainted with the fry cook, and assuming you got some frys in your bucket. Its cookin time. Comp. is judged by weight of cooked frys. 3 teams at a time.
This was the inspiration for a high speed combustion spud gun. Sounds fun. :) Unable to attend. :( The goal is >20 spuds/min.

That's how all stunguns work actually (taser has a little page about it), perhaps swap some semiconductors in for the spark gap if it's a Taser or another stupidly expensive type, maybe chuck in a voltage doubler or three. But this is the absolute basic micro system.

The final assembly is complete now, Just needs to be covered in (yet moar) epoxy for good luck.

Somewhat amusing that I wanted to make a single spark ignition and ended up finding all out automatic easier to do...

Only the xrep is smaller and that's because quite frankly it doesn't have a final stage capacitor and transformer. It gets the amps through by being stabbed into peoples flesh instead.

Epoxy is setting up on babybrid. I used the extra strength variety so it's got another 12 hours until testing but this should be a successful prototype..
