Inline Piston Idea

I came up with an idea for how to make an inline piston valve. The bolt is modified from Clide's. The exhaust valve can be routed to wherever, in the second picture, the exhaust goes THROUGH the piston and out the back of the cannon. The piston moves forwards and the air escapes the "piston tube" and into the "barrel chamber" then onto the barrel. This design eliminates the need for expensive tee-fittings, plus, I just like inline cannons.

you might as well have the pilot sticking out of one side, less friction and wasted volume.

So the idea will work? I hate using PVC Tee's.

Label your diagram for me please. I can't grasp your idea, because i can't tell where the piston is. Is it the red? Help me out here, i'm slightly confused.

Yeah, it'll work. A couple things though:
1: the pilot vent tube has to be connected to the end of the piston movment tube.
2: this requires O-rings.
